An opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly customer focused 1st/2nd line IT Support Engineer to move into the education sector and work as part of a large IT managed service with one of the 'UK's Top IT Employers'*.

RM Education is the leading provider of ICT software & services to the Education sector and employs over 1500 staff. Due to growth within our comprehensive IT managed service to North East Scotland College (NESCol), we require a Customer Support Engineer to be predominately based within a team of two at the Fraserburgh Campus (formerly Banff and Buchan College) but be flexible to travel to other remote College sites when required.

In this customer facing role, the IT Support Engineer will diagnose and resolve a range of desktop issues for both hardware and software as well dealing with printer, networking and telephony problems in line with our Service Level Agreements (escalating to 3rd line support as appropriate). They will also assist with the provisioning of new hardware, any moves or changes required and will undertake a variety of IT project work.

This is a varied and challenging IT support role in a very rewarding environment that also requires the building of strong relationships with the customer. The Individual

A proven track record of broad 1st/2nd line support (Windows 8, AD, DNS, PC/Laptop/printer hardware repair, Mac support, VoIP/networking/switching/patching etc), ideally within a SLA-driven environment

Strong problem solving abilities

Excellent communication, customer handling, influencing and interpersonal skills

Strong planning, organising and prioritising abilities. Target focused. Flexible to cope with change, be proactive and adapt quickly to a developing type of service delivery

Driving license is essential. Also flexible to travel 2-3 times per week to remote College sites in Peterhead, Macduff and Ellon and 2-3 times per month to the main NESCol site in Aberdeen.
