PHP Developer / Engineer - Macclesfield - Circa £35K. Our client based in Macclesfield, Cheshire is currently looking for a skilled PHP Developer / Engineer. This is a great opportunity for a PHP developer with DevOps knowledge to work within the latest technologies using the latest techniques. You will be responsible for helping define, plan, and deliver bespoke, Drupal and WordPress solutions, working closely with Design, UX and test teams in order to produce excellent solutions for some of the world's leading companies.
An aspect of this role will be to play an active role in the deployment of new software using the latest continuous integration technologies and principles.
The software developer will focus on UK projects, including all elements of lifecycle.
Development in the following technologies to create websites and apps for desktop and mobile:
o PHP (Drupal and WordPress)
o HTML/HTML5
o JavaScript
o CSS3
o Sass/LESS
o JQuery
o Node.JS
o GIT
Implementation knowledge of the following DevOps technologies:
o Microsoft Azure (App Service, Virtual Machines, Storage)
o Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins)
o Docker
o LAMP stack management
o IIS management
o Jenkins usage
· You will work with our digital design team to implement UI/UX interfaces using the latest techniques such as responsive web design
· You will work with our testing team to define suitable test plans and where possible automate testing
MAIN DUTIES
· Development of allocated software development projects, from detailed specification, through programming to technical test
· Input into budgeting, timelines, brainstorming of ideas to meet client briefs
· Report to the Head of Technology the status, risks and ongoing progress
REQUIRED SKILLS
· Highly skilled in PHP Development (Drupal and WordPress)
· Highly skilled in DevOps and hosting infrastructure
· Good knowledge of GIT version control
· Experience of liaison with business teams and client interaction
· Proven track record in development within a commercial setting
HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS
· Experience with .NET (and Visual Studio)
· Understanding of Atomic Design principles
· Experience of producing Mobile solutions using technologies such as Phone Gap, JQTouch, Sencha Touch
· Experience with publishing on iOS and Android
· Good knowledge of design best practice for website and mobile solutions
