To provide design solutions for the Company's contracts that meet statutory and customer specified requirements, accurately, on time and within cost budget.
Design Engineer sought with good knowledge of Revit, Inventor and BIM to join an expanding design department of this leading facade contractor.
My client is currently looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join their Façades Team working on a wide variety of International projects, to be based in their London office. This is an exciting opportunity, requiring an enthusiastic and proactive individual who thrives well in a high performing and well-focused team, and who is capable of successfully delivering Consultancy services to current Clients and also proactively developing new work.
Main Role Responsibilities
· Task management and delivery to the highest standards, demonstrating all round technical competence, financial awareness and the ability to strike a balance between internal and external resources.
· Liaise with clients, identifying their needs and presenting our solutions.
· Prepare client and project proposals.
· Promote Business Development through network of contacts, and be ambassador of the company.
· Attend team meetings and play a significant role in the development of the Façade Engineering group both technically and in our working methods.
· Develop façade engineering details by hand, in CAD or through computational methods.
Required qualifications, skills and knowledge
· Significant proven track record of Façade detailing /engineering and ideally with Chartered status.
· Architectural engineering background, especially concerned with façade detailing.
· Postgraduate engineering degree in Façade Engineering desirable. Reputable courses will be looked upon favourably including Bath and TU Delft.
· Excellent knowledge of façade systems and construction techniques, procurement routes and risk assessment.
· All round technical knowledge including: structural analysis, thermal analysis, façade systems, façade materials, façade performances, specification, testing, manufacture and site.
· Knowledge of delivery of CAD and 3D working.
· Ability to use computational software packages such as Grasshopper and Rhino.
· Ability to manage the design and construction stages of a project.
· Able to clearly present engineering concepts in the form of sketches and reports.
· Able to carry out technical and contractor reviews, off site and on site testing and site reviews.
