The aim of the Sales Platform Programme is to develop my clients linear and non‐linear advertising sales systems and create a platform for future growth. As well as working with linear and online airtime sales management systems and teams, this programme involves delivering a series of highly performant and functionally rich applications, and modify existing processes. Over the next few years they will be continuing on this critical journey implementing new functionality and working with 3rd party sales platforms and operators. At the end of the core programme, they will not only have a full suite of industry leading systems but also a fully equipped team to run and manage those systems.
They are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join the Technology Management Office Team take a leading role in the 3‐6 month start-up of this programme of work.
The Team
The Technology Management Office Team is responsible for the technology solutions that enable them to deliver world class and popular family of TV channels to all platforms, and delivering great content to online platforms and partners. This team work closely with colleagues in the business and operational teams responsible for delivering channels and content reliably day in‐day out. As a Solution Architect, you'll work with them too as well as the team you'll be part of. You'll also work closely with other technology and operational teams as they collaborate on solutions that work across business areas.
You will be working with business sponsors, business analysts, development and operational teams and managed service providers to ensure that the architecture is fit for purpose.
The Role
The Solutions Architect is an experienced practitioner who provides deep domain expertise and is able to demonstrate expertise and experience in the technology behind broadcast playout, stream encoding, file‐based content workflows, video formats, application architectures, and technology transformation. The successful candidate will provide important input and ownership of the team's strategy roadmap and will detail phased architecture aligned with the key business areas.
To work on designing and evolving the Sales engine that spans linear and non‐linear systems.
To provide leadership and ownership for solution architecture principles, and how these are applied across these projects and initiatives
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities / Skills
Architecture and product expertise
Analytical and problem solving skills, especially in the areas of complex legacy applications and systems.
To communicate, rationalise and explain technology decisions and options to non‐technical audiences.
Aligning solutions within architectural principles and gaining buy‐in from technology and business stakeholders
A track record in defining and overseeing the implementation of systems in the content management and broadcast space
Has worked with agile and waterfall delivery models
Experience of both software and infrastructure based projects
