Java Developer JEE, TDD, REST, Kanban
We have a superb opportunity for a Java Developer working for a world class entertainment and ecommerce group based in Farringdon.
You will have the opportunity to develop world-class Java applications in an environment where development and engineering is truly valued. The role has opportunity for international travel as well.
Understanding that teamwork is all about getting involved to help with others tasks to help clear backlogs i.e. Kanban (or SCRUM) philosophy and we really want someone who can collaborate with peer groups to contribute to solutions across the wider team.
Enforce Agile Focus on delivering value and maximising business effectiveness by a combination if tactical initiatives and delivering strategic direction in all aspects of lastminute.com groups technology estate. Extensive experience as a Software Engineer programming in Java/JEE/C++ in Unix/Linux environment during all stages of the classic and Agile software cycles.
Expert Java skills goes without saying however, familiarity with REST or HATEOAS would make you an exceptional fit for the role.. Experience of pair-programming/XP practices is a definite plus as well.
Online/eCommerce experience across Tomcat, Linux, SVN, Git and obviously advanced unit testing and TDD knowledge.
Experience of development using service-oriented architecture concepts including Maven, Spring, Junit as well as Agile methods and Kanban and/or SCRUM familiarity,
Fluent in English. Another language among Spanish, Italian or French will be a plus. Feel comfortable in an ever evolving organisation. Our client also works in an Agile environment so any prior experience would be really appreciated.
Good knowledge of software design pattern (GoF, PLoP, etc.) as well as BDD experience and pragmatic attitude to software development.
