Introduction

We need:

- A Trade Liaison Specialist
- Based at our Head Office in Swindon
- £29,905 - £38,212 a year dependent on skills and experience
- Permanent, full time position, 35 hours a week

The successful individual will be able to read the political and market environment to create a clear understanding of requirements and plans, which will enable Nationwide Payments to manage its position with the number of trade associations and policy makers and support delivery of the corporate plan.

Who we're looking for

A subject matter expert in payment market advancements with the ability to support Nationwide's presence and coverage at Payments Trade Association meetings. When required, will deputise for the Trade Liaison Senior Manager at key trade forums.

As a minimum requirement you'll:

- Have significant experience and knowledge of the Payments Industry
- Have strong communication skills and be confident to speak publicly and present in a Regulatory and Trade environment
- Understand how regulators and Trade Associations work and how decisions made at market level impact the customer journey
- Have significant experience of stakeholder and relationship management
- Be able to identify potential problems and analyse complex information and data, where appropriate escalate this to the Senior Manager
- Have experience of producing business reports and papers and be skilled at persuasive writing and presenting papers in an academic way
- Be skilled at producing engaging PowerPoint presentations, for use at senior level internally and externally, coupled with strong IT and MS excel and business systems
- Have strong influencing skills and be able to manage challenge under pressure
- Work with a degree of ambiguity and make decisions to recommend a way forward

What you'll be doing

- Prepare for trade association forums and governance meetings ensuring all relevant reports and views are sourced to accurately represent the Society's position at key Trade meetings
- Create and manage a Customer Relationship Management system for maintaining critical business contacts and meeting schedules
- Work with the Trade Liaison Senior Manager to enable debate on key payment issues at industry levels that impact the Society
- Understand the change portfolio at external market level and keep the Payments Team informed of any key or relevant industry developments
- Collect and source insights from market meetings to add value to the Payments statistical insight.
- Interact with cross-Nationwide association liaison groups to share information
- Support the Senior Manager to present information to other internal functions, including Product, Risk and Regulatory, which may have consequential impact on future decisions
- Deputise for the Senior Manager when required
- Work with the Payments Technical Services Team, Risk and the Service Team as a key SME providing advice and guidance for projects and BAU delivery
- Be responsible for production of reports and slide decks, including seeking commentary additions from relevant areas
- Regular review of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the Society is represented at the right committees
