National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB) is an apex body working under the administrative control of Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and is devoted to Research, Technology Development and Transfer, Continuing Education and Industrial Services for Cement, Concrete and Construction Sector for over five decades.

AGE, AREA OF EXPERIENCE AND JOB PROFILE:
Age, area of experience and specialized knowledge/ skill required are as given below:
a) GENERAL MANAGER (E7) / GROUP MANAGER (E5) – CIVIL ENGINEERING : Civil engineers having experience in the areas of quality control, quality audit/assurance, research or testing of concrete/concrete structures will be given preference.
b) GENERAL MANAGER (E7) / GROUP MANAGER (E5) – SCIENTIST (CHEMISTRY) : Candidates having experience in a research Institute / Lab / Cement plant and having knowledge of material analysis, R&D, product development, operation of advanced equipment for chemical and mineralogical analysis of inorganic materials preferably building materials i.e. cement , soil, sand, aggregates etc will be given preference.
c) GENERAL MANAGER (E7) / GROUP MANAGER (E5) – CHEMICAL / MECHANICAL ENGINEERING: Chemical engineers having experience in cement manufacturing, kiln & mill optimization, trouble shooting including process diagnostics experience, productivity enhancement, energy audit, environmental management and environmental improvement will be given preference. Mechanical engineers should preferably have experience in project engineering/management in cement industry, techno-economic feasibility reports, basic engineering concept, layout and flow-sheet, main machinery tender preparation etc.

d) DEPUTY MANAGER (E2) – CIVIL ENGINEERING : Candidates having experience in Quality Control, Technical Audit and Research will be given preference.
e) DEPUTY MANAGER (E2) – SCIENTIST (CHEMISTRY / GEOLOGY) : Candidates of Scientist (Chemistry) having experience in a research Institute / Lab / Cement plant and having knowledge of material analysis, R&D, operation/calibration of advanced equipment for chemical and mineralogical analysis of inorganic materials preferably building materials i.e. cement , soil, sand, aggregates etc will be given preference. Candidates of Scientist (Geology) should preferably have knowledge/experience of petrographic analysis of rocks and other materials.
AGE LIMIT FOR THE POSTS AT SL.NO. (d) TO (e): Not Exceeding 30 years as on 01st Jan 2014
f) ASSISTANT (MATERIALS MANAGEMENT) (A6) : Candidates having experience in handling purchase of equipment, stores, consumables, inspection, issue and maintaining records. Applicants having knowledge of import procedures and experience in import of scientific instrument/equipments in Govt. /Quasi Govt. organisations will be given preference
g) DATA ENTRY OPERATOR (A6) : Candidates having experience in good computer skills and experience in using MS Office, Scientific data handling and statistical data analysis, with speed & accuracy. Should have pleasant disposition and good communication skills.
h) COMPUTER HARDWARE & NETWORKING ASSISTANT (A6) : Candidates having experiencein the areas related to LAN, network maintenance and related troubleshooting, e-mail maintenance, office automation, installation & configuration of various computer hardware (PC, Laptop, PDA), accessories & servicing etc .
i) STAFF CAR DRIVER (A5) : Candidates having experience in driving light motor vehicle with a valid motor driving license. Should be fairly conversant with traffic rules / regulations, city topography, basic knowledge of minor repairs / systems normally available in and needed on staff cars. Persons having worked with senior officers in Govt. / PSU/ autonomous bodies will be preferred.
AGE LIMIT FOR THE POSTS AT SL.NO. (f) TO (i): Not Exceeding 35 years as on 01st Jan 2014
j) MULTI TASKING STAFF (A4) : Candidates having experiencein Physical maintenance of records of the section, Carrying of files & other papers within the building, Photocopying, sending FAX etc, and other non-clerical work in the Section/Unit, Assisting in routine office work like diary, dispatch etc, including on computer, delivering of dak (outside the building).

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS / OTHER DETAILS:
Number as well as break-up of posts given above may vary as per actual requirement at the time of recruitment.
The person already working with Govt./Public sector Undertaking/Autonomous Body should apply through proper channel. Applications received after the last date for whatever reason, including postal delay, will neither be considered nor any correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

Reservations are applicable as per Government of India rules.
Relaxation in age will be given to SC/ST/OBC category candidates as per Govt. rules.
The management reserves the right to raise minimum standards and / or relax age and / or experience in case of deserving candidates.
Candidates having relevant experience in similar Scientific Research Institutions will be preferred.
Basic knowledge to operate and work on Microsoft Office 2007 & 2008 will be an added advantage for all the above posts.

Traveling Allowance (with no other benefit): The candidates called for written test/ interview for posts at E-7/E-5 scale will be reimbursed to and fro 2AC rail / bus fare by shortest route and for all other posts (A-4/A-5/A-6/A-7 & E2), sleeper class rail fare/ bus fare by shortest route will be reimbursed on production of original ticket / receipt.
