The number of vacancies mentioned above is provisional. The General Manager, Grey Iron Foundry, Jabalpur reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of vacancies, if necessary.
The General Manager, Grey Iron Foundry, Jabalpur reserves the right to modify/alter/restrict/cancel the recruitment process, if need so arises, without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason thereof. The decision of GM/GIF will be final and no appeal will be entertained against this issue. All disputes will be subject to Jabalpur jurisdiction.
The specifications for the post are given hereunder: -
(A) Pay Scale: Band Pay Rs. 5200-20200/- + Grade Pay Rs. 1800/- along with usual
allowances as admissible to Central Government employees from time to time.
(B) Age Limit: Between 18 to 32 years.
Relaxation for Age limit:
i) For Ex-TA’s of Ordnance factories, the period for which they had undergone apprenticeship training.
ii) Upto 3 years in addition to the period of service rendered in the Defence Services for Ex Servicemen on production of Discharge Certificate for Ex Serviceman issued by the Competent Authority.
iii) For departmental candidates- Central Govt. Civilian Employees who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on closing date for receipt of application. SC/ST/OBC will be eligible for additional age relaxation as admissible.- Upto 40 Years.
iv) For PH candidate 10 years.(15 years for SC/ST, 13 years for OBC)
v) For SC/ST candidates 05 years.
vi) For OBC candidates 03 years.
(C) Educational :
Qualification ESSENTIAL
Matriculation or its equivalent + NAC/NTC issued by NCVT.
NOTE: The
National Apprentice Certificate (NAC)
and

(3) Application Fee: Rs. 50/- (Rs. Fifty Only) only shall be charged as application fee from Unreserved and OBC candidates. Women/SC/ST/Ex-Serviceman eligible for reservation, Physically Challenged Persons & Ex-TAs of GIF, Jabalpur need not pay any application fee. Fee shall be paid only by mode of Demand Draft/Indian Postal Order in favour of The General Manager, GIF Jabalpur payable at JABALPUR . Fee paid by any mode other than the above shall not be accepted. The application fee isnot refundable and shall not be adjusted in any future recruitment. Demand Draft/Postal Order issued on a date prior to date of publication of the advertisement shall not be accepted.
4) SCHEME OF EXAMINATION: -
The selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit. The selection process comprises of two stages: -
(i) Written Examination (Objective Type Multiple Choice) of 100 Marks: The syllabus for Written Exam for the various semiskilled posts will be broadly as that of the NCVT Examination syllabus prescribed for the respective trade(s) and also on the functional requirement of that trade. The Written Exam shall be of Objective type & OMR based. Detailed syllabus is available in the website.
(ii) Trade Test (Practical): The Trade Test shall be conducted to test the skill of the candidates in the relevant trade. The syllabus of the Trade Test (Practical) will be as per Trade Test Specification of the semiskilled grade of the relevant trade. The trade test (Practical) shall be only qualifying in nature without any marks.
All eligible candidates shall be called for Written Examination (Objective Type Multiple Choice). On the basis of Merit list based on marks obtained in the Written Exam, candidates 1.25 times the number of vacancies in the relevant Trade shall be called for Trade Test (Practical). The final select list shall be based on the marks in the Written Exam only, the trade test (Practical) being qualifying in nature. In the Selection process, other things being equal i.e. total marks being equal, trained Ex-Trade Apprentices of the recruiting Ordnance Factory and sister Ordnance Factories shall be given preference in the order in which they are stated. In between the trained Ex-Trade Apprentices of the recruiting Ordnance Factory, preference shall be given to those who are senior. The NCVT Examination batch Number & the merit list of the particular NCVT Examination batch shall be the criteria for deciding seniority of Ex-Trade Apprentices of recruiting Ordnance Factory. The Ex-Trade Apprentices who have passed the NCVT Examination in an earlier batch shall be en bloc senior to the Ex-Trade Apprentices who have passed NCVT Examination in the subsequent batch. Similarly in between the trained Ex-Trade Apprentices of the sister Ordnance Factories, preference shall be given to those who are senior as mentioned above. In all other cases of tie, the following method shall be applied till the Tie is resolved:-
(a) Date of Birth with older candidate given preference;
(b) Alphabetical order in which the first name of the candidate appear.
None of the candidates including Physically Handicapped shall be exempted from Trade Test as qualifying in the Trade Test is one of the essential requirements for appointment to the above semiskilled posts.
(iii) The General Manager/GIF reserves the following rights during the examination process:
(a) Reserves the right to fix the minimum qualifying marks for selection at each/any stage of the Selection process.
(b) Reserves the right to restrict the number of the candidates to be called for Written/Trade Test to a reasonable limit
(c) Reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of vacancies in the trade/category as per exigency of Production requirement of the factory.
5) LANGUAGE FOR WRITTEN EXAMINATION: – The question papers of the Written Examinationshall be bilingual i.e. Hindi & English.
6) GUIDELINES FOR FILLING ON-LINE APPLICATIONS: The salient features are givenhereunder:-
a) Eligible candidates are required to apply on-line. The On-line Application form shall be available on www.ofbindia.gov.in and www.gifofb.nic.in through a link Recruitment in GIF Jabalpur . Application received through any other means will not be accepted under anycircumstances.
b) No documents are required to be sent to GIF, Jabalpur in connection with the application unless it is directed to do so.
c) Before submitting on-line application, the candidate should possess the following: -
(i) Valid E-mail ID and Mobile No. The E-mail ID and Mobile No. entered in the Online Application form should remain valid/active till the completion of recruitment process. No change is allowed in the E-mail ID and Mobile No. once submitted. The candidate himself/herself is responsible for wrong or expired E-mail ID and Mobile No.
(ii) The candidate should have the facility to take print out of the filled in Application form and Acknowledgement Slip.
(iii) A Demand Draft/Indian Postal Order amounting to Rs. 50/- payable to The General Manager, Grey Iron Foundry, Jabalpur at Jabalpur, M P . The Women/SC/ST/Ex-Serviceman eligible for reservation/ Physically Handicapped and Ex-TA of GIF Jabalpur are exempted from payment of Application fee.
(iv) Have latest passport size colour photograph as well as his/her signature in digital format (.jpg or .jpeg file of more than 10 KB and less than 20 KB size each) for uploading in the Application form. Five copies of the same colour photograph shall have to be submitted to the factory after written examination at the time of document verification.
d) The on-line registration site shall remain open from the 2nd day of Publication of this advertisement in Employment News to 5:00 PM of the on-line Registration Closing date after which the link shall be disabled.
e) The candidate should cross check the information furnished in the Application Form before finally submitting the same as no correction will be possible later on.
f) After applying On-line, the candidate is required to download the duly filled Application form and Acknowledgement Slip generated by the system with unique registration number for future reference. The candidate should take print of Acknowledgement Slip in two copies. One copy is to be sent along with Demand Draft/Indian Postal Order to the Post Office Box Address mentioned on the Acknowledgement Slip and the other copy is to be retained at candidate end. The candidate should also take note of instructions, if any, mentioned in the
Acknowledgement Slip . The applicant has to necessarily put his left hand thumb impression at the space provided on the acknowledgement slip failing which their candidature shall be cancelled.
g) The candidate should invariably dispatch the Demand Draft/Indian Postal Order along with Acknowledgement Slip to the address mentioned on the Acknowledgement Slip well in advance, so as to reach the addressee positively by the due date of receipt of Application Fee . The candidate should not forget to write his/her name, UniqueRegistration No and Address on the backside of Demand Draft/ Indian Postal Order.
h) The Admit Cards for written examination/trade test shall be made available through link in www.ofbindia.gov.inandwww.gifofb.nic.in.No Admit Card will be sent by post. All theapplicants are required to provide valid & active e-mail id while filling up online application form as the factory shall use electronic mode to contact them.
7) INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES:
(a) Eligible applicants are required to necessarily apply ON-LINE through a link at www.ofbindia.gov.inandwww.gifofb.nic.in.Application received through any othermode shall not be accepted under any circumstances.
(b) Before applying for the semiskilled posts, the candidates are required to satisfy themselves that they are eligible in all respect for the post applied so as to avoid any disappointment in future.
The candidate not possessing the requisite qualification for the semiskilled trade as on the crucial date, therefore, need not apply. The requisite qualification acquired by the candidate after the crucial date shall not be taken into account by the factory management.
(c) Though no documents in support of age, qualification, caste status, creamy layer etc is required to be sent initially to the factory, however, non production of the requisite documents at the relevant time when asked for and detection of ineligibility in any respect at any point of time during examination process or even after conduct of written test and/or trade test and even after final selection shall lead to cancellation of candidature of the candidate.
(d) Candidates should apply against one trade only in semiskilled grade.
(e) Applicants must avoid submitting multiple applications. However, if due to any unavoidable circumstances any applicant submits multiple applications then he/she must ensure that the application with higher Registration Number is complete in all respects. In case of multiple applications, the application with higher Registration Number shall be entertained. No fee adjustment is permissible in these cases. No correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.
(f) SC/ST candidates called for Written/Trade (Practical) Examination will be paid only one IInd Class Railway fare or Bus fare for to and fro journey chargeable by shortest route provided that distance travelled by Rail/Bus each way exceeds 30 Kms. However, expenditure, if any, incurred in reserving seats/Sleeping berth in the train will not be reimbursed. The SC/ST candidates need to submit their Train/Bus ticket at the examination centre for payment of fare to them. The SC/ST candidates serving in Central/State Government are not entitled to benefit asaforesaid.
(g) Persons working in Central/State Government/PSUs/ Semi Government Organizations must obtain Vigilance Clearance and N.O.C. from their respective department before applying for the subject posts.
(h) For departmental candidates, relevant rules and conditions shall apply.
(i) The new Pension Scheme termed as Defined Contribution Pension Scheme is compulsory for all
Central Govt. Employees who are appointed on or after 01.01.2004
j) Ex- Trade Apprentices of Grey Iron Foundry, Jabalpur are also required to apply on-line through the link in the website. However, they are not required to pay any application fee.
k) Ex-Servicemen should have Discharge Certificate and Ex-Serviceman certificate issued by competent authorities. Servicemen who are going to retire within one year from the lastdate of on-line submission of applications can also apply. Whether the vacancy is reserved or otherwise, Ex-Servicemen are entitled for age relaxation.
NOTE-I : Ex-servicemen who have already secured employment in civil side under Central Government on regular basis after availing of the benefits of reservation given to ex-servicemen for their re-employment are NOT eligible for fee concession or for claiming benefits of reservation under EXS category. However, they are eligible for age relaxation as per rules
NOTE-II : The period of “Call up Service” of an Ex-Serviceman in the Armed Forces shall also be treated as service rendered in the Armed Forces for purpose of age relaxation, as per rules.
NOTE-III : For any serviceman of the three Armed Forces of the Union to be treated as ExServiceman for the purpose of securing the benefits of reservation, he must have already acquired, at the relevant time of submitting his application for the Post / Service, the status of ex-serviceman and /or is in a position to establish his acquired entitlement by documentary evidence from the competent authority that he would complete specified term of engagement from the Armed Forces within the stipulated period of one year from the CRUCIAL DATE or otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency.
l) If suitable PH candidates are not available, the interchange of VH/HH/OH shall be considered provided that the post under consideration is identified suitable for that category of disability.
m) Candidates suffering from not less than 40% of the relevant disability shall alone be eligible for the benefit of reservation under PH Quota. Whether the vacancy is reserved or otherwise, PH candidates are entitled for age relaxation but can apply against identified posts only. PH
Certificate should have been issued by competent authorities in proper format as per existing government instructions.
Persons with visual disability of less than forty percent will not be considered as visually handicapped persons. One eyed candidates and partially blind candidates who are able to read the normal Question Paper set for all the candidates with or without magnifying glass and who wish to write/indicate the answer with the help of Magnifying Glass will be allowed to use the Magnifying Glass in the Examination Hall and will not be entitled to a Scribe. Such candidates will have to bring their own Magnifying Glass to the Examination Hall.
Visually handicapped (VH) candidates with visual disabilities of forty percent and above and candidates suffering from Cerebral Palsy can avail the assistance of a SCRIBE in the Written Examination subject to such requests being made in the application forms provided they seek such assistance in the application form. Candidates suffering from Cerebral Palsy may be provided with the facility of Scribe and compensatory time at par with VH candidates.
Visually handicapped, including blind and partially blind, candidates with visual disability of forty percent and above may bring their own TAYLOR FRAME AND BRAILLE SLATE WITH PAPER for solving Arithmetical problems.
No attendant of VH/Cerebral Palsy candidates will be allowed inside the examination premises.
Provision of COMPENSATORY TIME
The Visually Handicapped candidates and candidates suffering from Cerebral Palsy will be allowed compensatory Time in the examination as admissible.
n) The successful candidates will have to give an Undertaking that they will be willing for re-designation to any equivalent post as per exigency of Production requirement in the Factory after induction training in that trade.
o) The applicants should keep visiting the link in website www.ofbindia.gov.in andwww.gifofb.nic.infor important announcement/information related to examinationthroughout the selection process at its various stages.
p) Canvassing in any form shall disqualify the candidate. Submission of false/ incorrect/dubious information in the application form shall also disqualify the candidate.
q) After the written examination, the short listed candidates shall have to forward the copy of his/ her Application form enclosing copies of requisite documents viz. Educational/Technical Qualification certificates, Date of Birth proof, Caste Certificate, Non Creamy layer Certificate in case of OBC, Disability Certificate/Ex-Serviceman Certificate/ Discharge certificate etc duly attested by Serving Gazetted Officer or self attested along with a copy of Acknowledgement Slip to The General Manager, Grey Iron Foundry, Jabalpur 482 009 (M.P) , as and when directed to do so. Non compliance of the above shall lead to cancellation of candidature.
r) The advertisement is subject to orders, if any, by Hon ble Courts/Tribunals/Ministry of Defence /Ordnance Factory Board having bearing on the recruitment matter and any unforeseen circumstances, if any, etc.
s) The SC/ST/OBC Certificates should have been issued by competent appropriate authorities in the format prescribed for Appointment to Posts under Govt. Of India. (SC-ST-OBC Certificate format available on the website)
t) The candidates seeking OBC reservation is required to obtain a certificate regarding his OBC status and Non Creamy layer status issued by a Competent Authority which should be valid on the crucial date.
u) Mere possessing of minimum prescribed qualification shall not vest any right upon the candidate for being called for examination.
v) The Management of Grey Iron Foundry, Jabalpur is, in no way, responsible for any postal delays.
w) Note of Caution: – The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil alleligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. Mere issue of Admission Certificate to the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by the factory. Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents will be taken up only after the candidate has qualified in the Written Examination.
x) MOBILE PHONE AND ACCESSORIES AND OTHER ELECTRONIC GADGETS ARE BANNED WITHIN THE PREMISES OF THE EXAMINATION CENTRES. POSSESSION OF SUCH EQUIPMENT WHETHER IN USE OR IN SWITCH OFF MODE, DURING THE EXAMINATION WILL BE CONSIDERED AS USE OF
UNFAIR MEANS. CANDIDATURE OF SUCH CANDIDATES WILL BE CANCELLED. THEY WILL BE LIABLE FOR FURTHER ACTION INCLUDING INITIATION OF CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS.
y) Candidates must carry at least one photo bearing IDENTITY PROOF in original such as Driving Licence, Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, Identity Card issued by University/College, Income Tax Pan Card to the examination center, failing which THEY SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED TO APPEAR FOR THE EXAMINATION.
8) Rejection of Candidature/Application: The candidature/application shall be summarilyrejected on following grounds: -
A) If, the age of the candidate exceeds the prescribed age limit on the crucial date.
B) If the essential qualification is not possessed by the candidate on the crucial date.
C) If the candidate fails to produce/submit all the requisite essential documents as & when asked to do so and has acquired the essential qualification after the crucial date.
D) If the application fee is not received within the prescribed time limit except in case of Women/SC/ST/PH/Ex-Serviceman eligible for reservation and Ex-TA of GIF Jabalpur. If date of issue of postal order/demand draft is prior to date of publication of advertisement.
E) If the candidate does not put his legible Left Hand Thumb impression at the space provided in the acknowledgement slip.
F) If the colour photograph or the signature uploaded by the candidate is not clear.
Note: The people should beware of unscrupulous elements who promise selection. The selection would be on merits only in a transparent manner and candidates should not fall prey to this exploitation.
