JOB TITLE: Java Architect
DEPARTMENT: Product Development
REPORTING TO: Director of Product Development

LOCATION: Gurgaon, India
SUMMARY
CampusEAI, a US based product Development company looking for Java Architect having 8-12 years of experience with minimum 6 Yrs of relevant experience. An Architect should have expertise in j ava/J2ee, Spring,Hibernate, Liferay, Portlets .
Prime Responsibilities:
1) He/She will act as an evangelist for the Overall Road Map of the product.
2) Will guide and Mentor the team of developers both in terms of enhancements to the product and adoption of new technology stack.
3) He/She would also be responsible for evaluating new enhancement and product on the context of HA and Scalable architecture.
4) Encourage and evaluation of robust Open source systems.
5) Work in conjunction with the BA in overall feasibility of the upcoming requirements
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
1. Experience contributing to open source projects and communities
2. Experience in education, particularly in instructional technology or distance education
3. Knowledge of common design patterns and their application
4. Java/J2EE: Spring, Hibernate, JDBC, Servlets, Portlets (JSR-168), Eclipse, ANT, Maven, web services, Liferay
5. Web Development: (X) HTML, CSS, JS, Browser quirks and testing
6. Tools: Version Control (SVN, CVS, etc.), Unit Testing, Continuous Integration, Automated Testing, Performance Testing, Profiling, Debugging
7. Design: User Interface or Interaction design and experience building usable software systems
8. Databases: experience designing, developing, administering, deploying, and testing relational database platforms, esp. Oracle or MySQL
9. Systems Administration: Linux/UNIX experience, scripting, monitoring, configuration management, patching, maintenance, policy, etc.
10. Communities: Participation in uPortal, CAS, Sakai, OSP, or Kuali is a strong plus.
