Credit Analyst - Grand Forks or Fargo, NDRequisition Number: 15-0153Requisition Number 15-0153 Post Date 10/29/2015 Title Credit Analyst City Grand Forks or Fargo State ND Description POSITION SUMMARY: This position provides support to commercial loan underwriters in accurately and efficiently reviewing loan requests and servicing existing credit relationships. This position is accountable for spreading and analyzing commercial borrower and guarantor financial information utilizing software tools; accountable for timely identification of potential risk rating changes and loan agreement covenant compliance; responsible for analysis of interim financial information and collateral reviews; and responsible for reporting of analysis through distribution of reports, spreads, and supporting documents to underwriting. This position also provides primary backup and overflow support for credit administration. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: JOB FUNCTION NUMBER 1: Support commercial loan underwriting to accurately and efficiently analyze loan requests and service existing credit relationships. Support the loan decision-making process on commercial loans by input of borrower provided financial information into statement spreading systems. Identify and report the relevant financial ratio facts, potential changes in risk ratings, covenant compliance, and collateral reviews in a timely fashion to commercial loan underwriters.-80% Work with Credit Administrator to obtain required financial information data from borrowers and guarantors. Maintain borrower information in bank software system. Accurately spread financial information data into the appropriate spreading tool and review results. Print reports and review spreads for accuracy. Compare borrowers financial position to industry peer group. Develop understanding of borrowers financial position and determine relevant key financial ratios. Verify compliance with loan agreement covenants and update bank tracking systems accordingly. Identify potential risk ratings changes in a timely fashion. Compose documentation to summarize analysis including brief narrative summary of borrowers financial position, grid of key financial ratios, risk rating analysis, covenant compliance, and guarantor support. Distribute and communicate resulting file document, reports, spreads, and borrower financial information to underwriter for review. Complete ongoing borrower interim financial and collateral reviews and report findings to underwriting. Support underwriting team in completion of credit narratives when directed. JOB FUNCTION NUMBER 2: Assist in administrative tasks for Loan Committee or for the department.-10% Collect loan committee agenda items and distribute to attendees. Take loan committee minutes, publish and file. Assist in Credit department projects or tasks as requested by Lead Underwriter. JOB FUNCTION NUMBER 3: Support backup and daily workflow of Credit Administrator.-10% Receive and distribute incoming credit mail. Order, retrieve, file and inform users of all real estate and UCC related collateral and title documentation. Order and receive necessary third-party reports: UCC-11 lien searches, personal credit bureau reports, Dunn & Bradstreet reports. Process Dunn & Bradstreet Alert Services Notices and inform users of changes. Perform file reviews and retrieve necessary reports, re-index and archive documents. Generate customer information request letters utilizing tickler system. Maintain annual and interim financial statement ticklers, log in all received business and guarantor financial statements and update Bank tickler system. Perform initial and secondary commercial insurance follow-up on expired policies and handoff to Banker and Underwriter when necessary. Generate tickler reports, covenants report, and policy exception reports and other various loan production reports and distribute to users. Requirements POSITION REQUIREMENTS: QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in accounting or finance area or equivalent education and job experience to demonstrate understanding of intermediate or higher accounting and/or finance background. Working knowledge of computer software programs with specific emphasis on spreadsheet and word processing programs.
