Headquartered in Dieppe, NB, the company also operates an appetizer plant in Wheatley, ON and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal and Boston. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the successful candidate will assist in the development, planning, support, and execution of various human resources policies, procedures, and strategies in relation to workforce management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, employee performance, and employee engagement and retention in support of the Jamestown Cavendish Farms plant.  In addition, this individual will be primarily responsible for processing payroll and vendor invoices. Key Responsibilities:All Human Resource functions for the Jamestown Cavendish plantAssist in the implementation of company policies and procedures developed in conjunction with Corporate, Site Leadership, and company objectives, to ensure consistent and equitable employee relations.Assist in the planning and organization of workforce to meet company objectives, including assisting with basic recruitment processes (i.e. managing the candidate experience onsite), and assisting with the on boarding of qualified candidates.Collecting and tracking data, including hours worked, overtime hours, changes in employee personal data, pay changes, etc.Assist in the administration of benefit programs (communications, training sessions)Providing timely and value-added solutions when faced with HR-related employee inquiries, issues, or concernsAssist in managing employee performance evaluation process through the creation of up to date job descriptions, assisting with performance management program communications, and responding to various performance management process and system inquiries.Provide day-to-day support and guidance to the business with regards to company policy administration and interpretation to ensure consistent and equitable application.Assist in developing and executing engagement and retention initiatives and action plans (employee recognition program, engagement surveys).Various reporting as required to support business processes, business decision making, and strategy development.Various projects and tasks as requested to support business initiatives and procedures.Successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:Bachelor's degree preferred, with an emphasis on Business Administration and/or HR, or equivalent experience5 years progressively responsible experience in HRPHR certification preferredDemonstrated problem solving, judgment, and decision making abilityProven ability to build relationships with internal and external client groupsAbility to multitask and maintain flexibility while managing shifting prioritiesStrong sense of urgency to complete tasks, while maintaining attention to detailDemonstrated professional maturity and ability to handle confidential informationExceptional organizational, communication, and time management skillsFocused on continuous improvement, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate and role model a positive attitudeAbility to work independently as well as in a team environmentDemonstrated ability to work well within cross-functional teamsDetail-oriented with a focus on delivering high quality workProficient in MS OfficeSalary is $18/hr based on experience.  Excellent benefits package offered.  If you are interested in applying for this career opportunity, please click "Apply Now". www.cavendishfarmsjamestown.com Cavendish Farms is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Minority/Female/Disability/ Protected Veteran. It is the policy of the Company not to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment on the basis of their race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, marital status, disability, Veteran Status, recently separated veterans, sexual orientation, genetic information, victims of domestic violence and stalking, and all other categories covered by law.
