OBJECTIVE Global Mobility Tax Analyst, Sr. with Doosan Infracore International, Inc. in West Fargo, ND to ensure global compliance with tax reporting for international assignees through collaboration and coordination with functional stakeholders and vendors. The position will monitor new tax regulations and provisions that may affect global talent movement, identify impact, and make timely and appropriate recommendations. RESPONSIBILITY The position will ensure that compensation is accurately reported to taxing authorities and yearend compensation summaries reflect appropriate breakout of allowance items for preparing tax equalizations; coordinate all tax advances and reconciling outstanding receivables in a timely manner from assignees; and review cost projections from vendor and analyze incremental costs for business units. The position will also prepare updated budget projections yearly for business unit controllers and answers questions regarding policy allowances and expenses; review initial hypothetical calculations for all assignment transfers; explain tax policy and calculations to assignees; review recalculation at bonus and merit increase time to ensure appropriate hypothetical tax withheld in relation to tax liability and amounts withheld to date. Provide calculations to Global Mobility payroll analyst; review payroll information for creating accurate compensation summaries and yearend wage reporting summary; review yearend wage summary for accuracy before forms are sent to assignees and tax vendors; investigate and reconcile all year end compensation queries from tax vendors and assignees; review quarterly payroll feeds from relocation vendor for loading compensation into taxable versus nontaxable amounts; work with foreign payroll departments regarding invoicing of withholding taxes; ensure that all foreign payroll tax and income tax are appropriately field and paid; collect FTC carryovers from international business travelers; and recommend international tax return filing, when appropriate. KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or another related field PLUS five (5) years experience with an international accounting firm and/or international and US domestic tax experience, in the job offered, or related. Experience must include three (3) years in expatriate and foreign national tax compliance, tax equalization policy and management of international assignees. Experience must also include: Tax knowledge related to international tax treaties, social security tax totalization agreement, foreign tax credit and individual income tax issues; Proven ability to recognize and evaluate tax aspects of domestic relocation; Experience with corporate tax with permanent establishment issues; Knowledge related to hypothetical taxes and ability to recognize appropriate hypothetical taxes withheld in relation to bonus and merit increase; Knowledge of to reconcile international tax accrual accounts; and Knowledge of expatriate management software KPMG Link-E. Travel required 10-15%.
