We are searching for an individual with expertise in both instructional technology and one or more of the colleges fields. The 11-month position will report to the Dean of the College and will also be connected to the Department of Distance and Continuing Education (DCE) and the College of Graduate and Interdisciplinary Studies.
The primary responsibility of the position is to enhance the quality and reach of courses (both online and face to face) taught across eleven College departments and one interdisciplinary program.
The College also aspires to improve its assessment of student learning in all teaching environments. The person in this position will be asked to work with faculty and graduate students in the service of these goals and to join in that process with other professionals in DCE. Although the chief responsibility of this position is to enhance teaching in the College, the successful candidate may teach, engage in relevant research, and serve on college and university committees related to her or his expertise.Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral Degree in Instructional Design/Technology or related field.
Evidence of connection to disciplines in arts, humanities or social sciences (e.g., a Bachelors in a department or discipline represented in the college: Anthropology, Architecture, Communication, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, English, History, Landscape Architecture, Modern Languages, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Religious Studies, Sociology, Theater Arts, Visual Arts, Women and Gender Studies).
Clear and effective oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop and modify courses for online and hybrid delivery and to employ educational technology to enhance face-to-face courses.
Demonstrated ability to identify and use innovative and effective instructional technologies.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with faculty and practitioners in STEM-related fields or digitally-focused disciplines (e.g., digital humanities, public history, communication, visual arts).Preferred Qualifications: A Masters degree in an arts, humanities or social sciences discipline.
Experience designing and executing assessments that measure student learning.
Experience teaching at an accredited institution of higher education with significant distance education teaching responsibilities.
A publication record related to educational assessment and/or pedagogy.
A publication record in arts, humanities, or social sciences.
Experience writing or supporting proposal and grants.
