Software Engineer - Middleware SpecialistLocation: Bloomington, MNSchedule (may change based on business needs): Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.Position Overview: The Middleware Specialist is responsible for the installation and administration of third party tools and applications. This person will act as the main point of contact for support of these tools and applications. Finally, the Middleware Specialist creates and maintains enterprise services in support of business objectives.Responsibilities:• Provide application administration activities for select custom and third party tools and systems• Assist application teams with performance issues and resolution• Act as main point of contact with internal developers that require in-depth tool/application support• Work with relational databases including Oracle and SQL Server• Work with a t eam of development professionals to create enterprise services utilizing TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks and Java/Spring• Implementation of services for large, multi-tier, scalable systems involving Inventory Control, Material Transport, Accounting, Purchasing, Shipping, and other applications in a large scale distribution environment• Write service specifications and other documentation as neededRequirements/Skills:• A solid foundation in the basics of software development including design, development, debugging, and testing• Experience utilizing Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE), Spring Framework or a C based language• Experience with Software Development Life Cycle processes• Experience with Oracle or SQL Server databases• Understanding of Servers and networks• Knowledge of Windows and Linux/Unix Operating Systems• Experience writing shell scripts• Excellent problem-solving skills and logical thinking ability• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills• Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects at onceEducation and Experience:• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience All interested persons should complete an application online at www.digikey.com/careers, or submit a resume to hr@digikey.com.
