Responsibilities Responsible for the engineering, design and construction of office and industrial electrical systems and lighting. Supports electrical maintenance and troubleshooting activities as requested. Provides subject matter expertise in the areas of NEC Electrical Code compliance, electrical safety practices, lighting, power distribution and electrical system design and maintenance.

1. Engineer and design electrical and lighting systems for equipment and facilities.
2. Review and/or define electrical system specifications.
3. Direct and/or oversee outside engineering firms and vendors in the areas of electrical system design, specification, fabrication and installation.
4. Provide electrical engineering support to ongoing operations.
5. Perform FAT activities as needed to support delivery schedules.
6. Provide electrical system related training for other employees as necessary.
7. Coordinate with all stakeholders to confirm the electrical systems will adequately support operations.
8. Develop bid packages for electrical work, solicit quotes and participate in bid awards.
9. Oversight of field activities and adherence to design intent and quality.
10. Manage projects from inception to closeout on an independent basis.
11. Perform NCE investigations, change control implementations and CAPA executions.
12. Perform startup/commissioning of equipment.
13. Develop capital project documentation and plans.
14. Ensure accuracy of as-built drawings and documentation.

Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
* Minimum of four years in electrical system engineering/design with a minimum of two years supporting a regulated industry (FDA, etc.)
* Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
Additional Skills/Preferences
* Knowledgeable in cGMPs.
* Demonstrated knowledge of electrical distribution (34.5 KV down to 24 V), lighting equipment, UPS systems, emergency generators, etc.
* Knowledgeable of NEC Code requirements and their application.
* Interpersonal skills suitable for participation in engineering, office and production based teams.
* Knowledgeable in general construction practices and procedures.
* Ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
* Effective problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated learning agility.
* Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Self-directed personality with the ability to independently and proactively perform work assignments.
Additional Information
* Infrequent travel to New York City (R&D support) or to Bridgewater, New Jersey (OBU support).
* Infrequent off-hours support to Branchburg campus for power outages or for switchgear maintenance oversight.
