Job Description:
A PowerDB Technical Team Lead is required to join a globally renowned employer in Kent.
Responsibilities will span the entire project development lifecycle including information gathering, defining requirements, architecting solutions, programming, unit testing, QA, deployment, support, and maintenance in regards to the PowerDB product line. Must have intimate knowledge of the PowerDB application and database structure.
Responsibilities Include:
* Responsible for developing and maintaining Web Application, mobile, projects and business application programs, which support the company’s external customers.
* Write new program code; maintain existing code using prescribed specifications.
* Evaluate simple interrelationships between programs such as whether a contemplated change in one part of a program would cause unwanted results in a related part
* Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs.
* Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls.
* Write and maintain programming documentation.
* Adheres to standard for development, testing, code promotion and security.
* Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
* Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource
Key Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years’ of C++/MFC programming
* Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or 2.1 Levels in related field
* PowerDB Form Design Standard
* PowerDB Scripting Standard
* PowerDB Database Schema (CAdoRecordSet)
* PowerDB Data Synchronization
* Exceptional MFC/C++/BCGSoft Programming Skills
* Visual Basic Legacy Support
* SQL Server 2012/2014 and the ability to demonstrate knowledge of queries and joins
* Microsoft Access Database Support
* Electrical Test Set Experience – RS232/Bluetooth/TCPIP Protocols
* NERC/FERC (PRC-001/004/005) Knowledge
* Strong object-oriented software engineering skills
* Strong understanding of software development lifecycle
* Windows Server 2008, 2012, IIS 7.5
* Must be able to intelligently discuss the following: SQL injection, cross-site scripting, data binding and inheritance
* Experience / Exposure to Agile SCRUM SDLC, Agile ceremonies, Agile practices and self-organisation
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills including a very strong ability to collaborate by phone and email
* Strong analytical skills
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
* Able to manage 1-5 developers in an Agile development cycle.
* Able to learn in a fast paced environment
* Able to work independently or with numerous teams
* Able to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders
Preferable Qualities:
* 2+ years of C# and ASP.Net programming
* Git/Visual Studio 2015. Continuous builds and integration depending on the product platform.
* Universal Windows Applications/Cross Platform Development
* Experience with .Net Frameworks 4.5
* MVC / Web API
* HTML5/jQuery/AngularJS
* CSS3/CSS Preprocessors (LESS/SCSS)
* Task Running – Bower/NPM
* Restful Web Services / SOA frameworks
