Bluebird Care (Bromley) – Bromley
We offer placements for carers to live within the homes of elderly, disabled and other vulnerable adults throughout The London Borough of Bromley. Our Live-in carers provide much-valued support which enables our customers to remain living independently in their own home.
Placements can vary from one week to several months and beyond, though most Live-in carers typically work on a rotational basis: 2 weeks on/1 week off, 1 month on/2 weeks off, etc, and must be available for a minimum period of 1 full week at a time.
ALL Live-in Carers are afforded daily 2-hour breaks, covered by the local domiciliary Care Team where their customer cannot be left unattended.
Carers are NOT expected to be on-call throughout the night but are expected to be able to retire once the customer is settled so they are able rest themselves.
Every customer will have had a personalised care plan tailored to their specific needs. Tasks may include shopping, cooking and preparing meals, and possibly assistance with feeding and administration of medication, housekeeping, laundry, and of course personal care.
It is essential that carers recognise the importance of respecting the customer’s privacy and right to make their own choices, while being on hand to provide support as required.
Typical pay is £490.00 per week for Standard Live-in placements, though can be higher: up to £700.00 per week for High Dependency care packages or Couples.
Experience is not essential as we provide a comprehensive induction and training program to all Carers, as well as regular supervision. You should, however, state a reason for wanting to join the Care sector.
What is essential as a Live-in Carer is the right attitude: you need to be hard-working and reliable, with a calm and patient demeanor and an ability to remain professional and perform in occasionally stressful circumstances – but above all, you need to be 100% committed to helping improve the quality of life of vulnerable people.
Anyone who does not genuinely care about the welfare of vulnerable people will not be suitable for this role.
