This 12 month contract role is to support the Movember country manager with the execution of the Movember campaign and country plan in South Africa, covering the functional areas of business and community engagement, events, operations team and partnerships.
The Movember Foundation currently operates the Movember campaign in 21 countries around the globe, including South Africa where Brand AXN manages and implements the campaign on their behalf. Through the power of the moustache, we have created a global movement that is changing the face of men’s health, and delivering real outcomes in the battle against prostate and testicular cancer and mental health.
As we expand our South African team, we are currently seeking a community engagement executive to assist in developing and implementing Movember’s community and corporate engagement program in South Africa.
The community engagement executive will play a primary role in both maintaining and fostering existing relationships with Movember’s highly engaged communities in South Africa, while strategically evaluating and developing new opportunities.
Based out of Brand AXN’s offices, the SA appointed Movember community engagement executive will be based in Cape Town, the responsibilities of this role include:
Working closely with the South African country manager in evolving the national strategy for Movember in South Africa.
Working closely with large-scale, national corporate and community Movember efforts where multiple office locations and departments are involved in executing the campaign. This includes a wide range of communities such as businesses, services, universities, sporting, arts, entertainment, hospitality, retail, media and social community groups.
Conducting outreach to identify business development opportunities, execute stewardship of existing Movember participants, and develop a repository of best practices for Movember participation.
National travel to conduct business and community development.
Manage and update CRM system with relevant points of contact/interactions with the Movember community, as well as execute email campaigns within the CRM system
Keep the SA country manager and team abreast of important information as it pertains to the successful execution of their campaign strategy
Run post-campaign analysis to identify trends in participation as well as trends in the larger SA campaign.
The role of business & community engagement manager will report directly to the SA country manager, and work very closely with other departments.
To succeed in this role you will be a strong relationship builder, have a marketing or sales background and a proven track record in delivering promotional campaigns & events. You will also have excellent communication skills and be a strong team player. Your highly developed organisational and prioritisation skills will underline your ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Requirements:
To be considered for this role, the candidate must have:
Bachelor’s Degree
Two-three years experience in business development, philanthropy, marketing, or a related field
High level of written & oral communication skills
Ability to build strong networks and manage relationships
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with people at all levels of an organization
Highly developed organizational skills, the capacity to successfully manage several programs concurrently with competing priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to represent the Movember Foundation and make presentations on its behalf
Flexibility to handle last minute issues and projects that are not always within official scope of work
Proficient using Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Ability to run data analysis using Excel
Ability to conceptualise, design, and build presentations
Must know and live by Movember’s Core Values as well as possess a strong work ethic
Must have local/SA based geographic knowledge and a strong understanding of the regional cultural variances across South Africa
Must have a valid SA driver’s licence
