Rig Doctor

Brief Description
We are currently looking to fill a Rig Doctor vacancy. The position will be on a 28x28 rotation cycle.

Detailed Description
To be the primary focal point in giving or assisting in giving first aid and emergency treatment to Rig, Barge and Lift Boat based employees as well as the subsequent administration of all documents related to employees prior to their evacuation for further treatment.

First Aid:
·         Provide general first aid and medical care to rig based employees in order to ensure the level of medical care meets the company’s standards this includes dealing with cuts and abrasions, making and changing dressings and giving tetanus injections.
·         Maintain a stock of first aid and medical supplies as per the GDI’s approved list, and initiate necessary requisition orders to replenish such stock.

Emergency Services
·         Provide primary emergency treatment to patients prior to their evacuation to Doha. Includes examining patience by taking temperature and blood pressure readings and may diagnose their ailment.
·         Prepares a preliminary medical report covering symptoms accident details, treatment given (as applicable) and coordinate with the Company Doctor and Occupational Health Advisor.
·         Follow the emergency / medical evacuation procedure of GDI.

Coordinate Treatment of Patients and Communicate with Office:
·         Informs of or agree with the Occupational Health Advisor/ Company Doctor on the need for patients to be evacuated to Doha for treatment in case of serious illness or bad injury.
·         Informs the Operations Department of emergencies so that the employees are received by an ambulance and seen by a specialist.
·         Prepares the preliminary medical report and ensures that necessary preliminary medical report is available with the patient going to Doha for further treatment.
·         Reviews the discharge medical report / results of tests in coordination with the Occupational Health Advisor / Company Doctor to ensure that any further medication required is taken by the patient.

General Administrative Assistance
·         Provide general administrative assistance to the Rig Superintendent on all matters related to the rig personnel, Includes maintaining personnel files for employees.
·         Liaises with the Rig Superintendent to deal with any incoming inquiries from the Human Resources Department related to rig employees' medical fitness, and sick leave status.

Food Preparation Inspection:
·         Liaise with catering contractor's representative on the provision of food and accommodation services on assigned rig.
·         Inspects food preparation and accommodation areas to ensure conformance to established hygiene standards,
·         Advises supervisor of any deviation or problems with quality, quantity and service of food and cleanliness of accommodation, to ensure that it all services are in line with set standards.
·         Keeps record of contractor's personnel health certificates and checks food stuff condition and validity.
·         Instructs and guides Contracted Cleaners to ensure cleanliness and good hygiene is maintained at all times.

Coordinating Personnel Movement
·         Coordinate with camp boss on room assignment to visitors and log personnel movement in and out of the assigned rig so as to keep a detailed record of personnel movement.
·         Prepare a record of third party personnel using company mess facilities and forwards the same to Rig Manager for invoicing purposes.
·         Independence of Operations:
·         Works according to established first aid standards and general instructions. Required to act on his own initiative, when dealing with emergency situations where delay could result in death and permanent injury. Completed work is subject to spot

Health Safety Environment:
·         Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health and environmental management procedures and controls across the maintenance section to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality services and a responsible environmental attitude
·         Ensure proper handling and disposal of medical waste as per GDI Waste Management Plan. Where applicable this can include proper handling and disposal of expired medicines.
·         Ensure that relevant waste disposal records are kept on file for accountability.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

·         Graduate of a University, college or medical school with degree of MD, MBBS OR MBCHB from a recognised medical school/college/university that is listed in the IMED FAIMER Directory which can be found at https://imed.faimer.org/; or from University college or Medical School that is recognized in the WHO / AVICENNA directory which can be found at http://avicenna.ku.dk/database/document2/
·         Qualification in alternative medicine physiotherapy, Homeopathy, Ayruvedic are not acceptable
·         Have attended and be in possession of certificate ACLS(advanced critical life Support) or other similar training as required. However such training shall be completed in Qatar during probation period
·         The applicant shall be currently registered and licensed within the country of origin

A/B Seaman

Detailed Description
Carry out regular cleaning, painting and maintenance of all deck equipment, lifting gear. Supervise all activities assigned to O/S.

A/B Crane Operator

We are currently looking to fill a A/B Crane Operator vacancy. The position will be on a 42x21 rotation cycle.
Detailed Description
To operate cranes to load/offload or move equipment on the deck/vessel as well as carry out assigned regular cleaning, painting and maintenance of all deck equipment, lifting gear as per International maritime standards, manufacturer's recommendations and company policies.

Marine and Offshore Operations
·         Perform the role of Watch keeper when on conventional watch to ensure the safe operation of the vessel.
·         Ensures all work undertaken under his direction complies with SMS requirements and necessary actions are completed.
·         Maintains stock levels and monthly inventory of deck store and paint store, other store as required to ensure adequate supplies.
·         Ensure compliance with garbage management system, SOPEP plan and protection of the environment at all times.
·         Act as a FRC coxswain, HLO and as security team member as required.
·         Ensure that the site area is clear of unauthorized personnel and barricaded prior to starting the crane.
·         Liaises with the chief mate, and deck safety officer for pre-planning of daily jobs.
·         Keep the chief mate updated on the number of working hours to ensure compliance with the approved working scheduled.

Routine Maintenance

Loading and Offloading
·         Load and offload equipment onto and from the deck with full understanding of the procedures for lifting operations.
·         Complies with the instructions given by the Chief mate pertaining to daily operations and other tasks as per the operational requirements and lifting operations.
·         Organizes cargo transfer operations and checks the deck cargo to ensure that it is secure at all times.
·         Ensure that the load is known and within the SWL of crane prior to starting lifting operations. No cargo / material should be lifted if deemed unsafe (improper slinging, bad weather, beyond SWL, etc.).
·         Make himself fully conversant with the layout and parameters of the vessel as soon as is reasonably practicable after signing on, and familiarize himself with the type of crane on board including its operational requirements, SWL, general maintenance, safety features, procedures, etc...
Job Requirements

·         Valid Crane operator certificate from a recognized training center. Preferred candidate with Sparrow stage 2 or stage 3 certificate obtained on the type of crane used on board the vessel

Motorman

We are currently looking to fill a Motorman vacancy. The position will be on a 42x21 rotation cycle.
Detailed Description
Motorman will assist the Chief Mechanic in the maintenance and repair of machinery on the rig.

Chief Engineer

We are currently looking to fill a Chief Engineer vacancy. The position will be on a 28x28 rotation cycle.
Detailed Description
To head the Engine Department to ensure proper maintenance and operations of all engine equipment  as per high maritime standards, manufacturer recommendations, class and flag state requirements and company policies.

Marine and Offshore Operations :
·         Ensure effective use of the Company’s Planned Maintenance System.
·         Plan and coordinate all preventative and corrective maintenance activities in conjunction with other department heads to avoid downtime.
·         Develop and promote effective troubleshooting condition evaluation and root cause failure analysis programs for all technical equipment.
·         Ensure that the permit to work and isolation systems are strictly adhered to by the maintenance department.
·         Record and report all non-conformance, incidents, abnormal situations, and potential hazards to Captain.
·         Promote and develop maintenance task optimization and provide feedback to technical team /maintenance manager. Follow up and implement approved changes to PMS.
·         Coordinates management of change for design modification of equipment and vessel.
·         Responsible for efficient and effective maintenance of all systems onboard.
·         Responsible for ensuring that the Technical department are conversant with relevant vessel specific procedures, that they are understood, utilized and updated accordingly.
·         Liaise with the Chief Mate regarding the loading, ordering and use of fuel, lubes, potable water to ensure sufficient supplies.
·         Ensure other departments know, understand and can execute first line maintenance effectively.
·         Ensure equipment is maintained as per manufacturer’s specifications.
·         Ensure that reports for repair and maintenance of equipment are accurate and complete.
·         Carry out classification surveys as part of continuous survey of machinery.
·         Ensure technical inventory is maintained within budget and at operating levels
·         Establish and maintain a working relationship with the Client representative

·         Conduct performance appraisals for subordinates. Recommend promotion, development or disciplinary action
·         Mentor, develop and train crew members to ensure they are competent to work in their current job positions and where appropriate coached and prepared for the next position
·         Ensure housekeeping and high hygiene standard is maintained in assigned areas
·         Complete training requirements in a timely manner as per company training matrix
·         Prepare task specific JSAs with the engine crew and in co-ordination with the Safety Officer.
·         Ensure JSA and TRA and permits are in place & in order prior to starting any task.
·         Attend the daily tool-box talks and discuss JSA with the crew. Ensure JSA is reviewed & pre-job meeting conducted should the scope of work change.
·         Checks crew to ensure proper personal protection equipment is  used by the deck crew
·         Ensures that the Sub Contractor Company complies with Company QHSE policies, JSA, TRA and permit to work system.

Detailed Description
To ensure proper maintenance and operations of deck operations and navigation equipment is conducted safely and efficiently as per manufacturer specifications, maritime standards and company policies.

Marine and Offshore Operations:
·         Assists Master and chief mate with manning various aspects of the vessels to ensure its efficient operation.

Electronics Technician

We are currently looking to fill an Electronics Technician vacancy. The position will be on a 28x28 rotation cycle.

Detailed Description
To plan and organize preventive and corrective maintenance of all electronics equipment in the operations so as to keep the rig fully operational with high reliability while ensuring a safe working place.

Training Compliance:

·         PLC COURSE for Rig System
·         VFD (Various Frequency Drive) system
·         Electronics / Electrical Reliability & Maintenance:
·         Assure the responsibility of the respective rig’s electrical as well as electronics maintenance so as to ensure maximum rig output with minimum hazards.
·         Maintain the electronics system via continuous checks and tests to ensure conformity with GDI’s maintenance and safety standards.

Electronics System operations:

·         Operate the electronics system, its interface system into the electrical system, including VFD controlled electrical power so as to obtain maximum output generation within time and cost limits.
·         Organize, schedule and allocate manpower resources for shutdown and turnaround work related to electronics equipment in accordance with rig shut down and turnaround plans.
·         Electronics / Electrical System Maintenance:
·         Acquire maintenance checklists from the PMS (Preventive Maintenance System) and ensure that it meets the listed requirements and perform the monthly preventive maintenance in order to ensure conformity with safety and performance standards.

Spare Parts Inventory:

·         Review the inventory of spare parts and reduce the dormant stock to optimum levels so as to reduce the inventory carrying cost; order critical spare parts needed for critical equipment to ensure critical equipment can be required at short notice.

Ongoing Electronics Maintenance:

·         Continuously apply spot checks an operating electronics equipment to ensure availability and capability to handle upcoming operations.

Direction of Subordinates:

·         Organize and supervise the activities and work of small team of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of electronics maintenance activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

·         High school degree
·         Electronics / electrical trade certificate is preferable – formal qualification is required for HSE reasons

Lift Boat Captain

We are currently looking to fill a Lift Boat Captain vacancy. The position will be on a 28x28 rotation cycle.
Detailed Description
To act as the Company representative onboard in order to ensure the safety and security of the crew, integrity of the vessel and protection of the environment whilst at all times complying with all international maritime laws, rules and regulations, flag regulations, local regulations and company policies for full satisfaction of the Company and the client contractual obligations.

Marine Operations:
·         Control the vessel operations in compliance with international and local maritime laws and regulations in order ensure the safety and security of the crew and vessel and protection of the environment.
·         Ensures the safe undocking, navigation, maneuvering, approach and positioning of the vessel from one offshore/port location to another in compliance with maritime standards and company/charterer’s policies.
·         Directly supervises all vessel moves and jacking operations to ensure that all vessel stability criteria are maintained.
·         Monitors all operations potentially impacting seaworthiness of the vessel- ensures all operations are in accordance with Company procedures and maritime regulations.
·         Ensure the watertight integrity of the vessel is maintained at all times.
·         Ensures materials and equipment are properly secured for all sea and weather conditions.
·         Ensures safe helicopter operations are conducted.
·         Ensures that all vessels that come alongside the rig are safe and functional.
·         Manages rig surveys and the statutory certification process to ensure compliance to classification society requirements and maritime regulations.
·         Ensures that all equipment, navigation, deck, machinery, crane, jacking system, LSA, FFA is maintained to a high operational standard at all times and in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations and manufacturers recommendations.
·         Enforces policies and procedures and maritime laws to ensure compliance with the vessel security plan, garbage management plan & SOPEP plan
·         In charge of the time and cost effective operation of the vessel with special attention given to requisition to ensure financial discipline is exercised to maintain balance between smooth operations and economic factors.
·         Provides recommendations to operations department for enhancement of procedures.
·         Investigates all marine-related rig incidents reports to identify the root causes and recommends corrective actions.
·         Take charge of the vessel in the event of an emergency.

Review of Permits and Certification.
·         Reviews and approves work permits for fuel loading.
·         Checks that the marine personnel are trained in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements; ensures Company and client training and certificate requirements are met and up-to-date at all times.
·         Ensures that the Sub Contractor Company personnel comply with Company QHSE policies, JSA, TRA and permit to work system.

Training
·         Conduct drills, exercises and training as per maritime standards and company policies to ensure crew is prepared for eventualities.
·         Oversees and participates in completion of crew appraisal on an annual basis and as per company appraisal policies to ensure the continued assessment and development of crew.

Reports
·         Ensures navigational logs, all records, and all reports are maintained and submitted  to meet requirements of Maritime Regulations, Marine Procedures and company policies.
·         Provide detailed hand-over notes to assist incoming master.

HSE Responsibility
·         Conducts all works activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times by not taking on any task(s) that are perceived to be unsafe.
