Job Description

Operates, controls and maintains a steady state of operation of crude processing units and related equipment in the most safe and efficient manner to meet required throughput, maximize yield and meet required quality specifications. Handles all unit emergencies. Ensures the operations are in accordance with established procedures and instructions.

Vacancies are for Control Operators for the following process units:

a) Hydrogen plant and vacuum Distillation unit. (H2 and VDU)
b) Atmospheric and Vacuum Distillation units, (CDU and VDU)
c) Hydrocracker unit (HCU) Two stage.
d) Sulphur Recovery Unit (SRU) (clause process ), Sour Water Strippers, (SWS), and Tail Gas Treating Unit, (TGTU)
e) Hydrodesulphuriser unit (HDU)
f) Fluid catalytic unit (FCCU)
g) Gas concentration Unit (GCU), Polymerization Units

Applicants MUST include the following information for the above process units; otherwise the applications will be discarded:

1) Process unit or units worked in as Control Operator or higher position.
2) Duration and experience as Control Operator in Refinery process unit.
3) Must be willing and prepared to work as a Control Operator.
4) Applicants with NO Refinery process units experience will be discarded.

The above requirements must be specified clearly otherwise applications will discarded.

Category Specialist - Procurement

Job Description

Perform Category / Sub category Analysis such as market and suppliers analysis, SWOT, Porters Analysis, supplier segmentation etc. to develop category plan & sourcing strategies for assigned categories.

Assess Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and perform should cost analysis for assigned category to identify sourcing Opportunities.

Define, manage and implement contract management plans to ensure contract compliance alongside supplier strategies to the assigned category in the organization.

Conduct strategic sourcing and develop contracts for assigned category, ensuring that tender law is followed and suppliers are qualified to deliver goods and services.

Implement category strategies and demand initiatives for assigned category of goods & services to deliver new ways to eliminate, reduce, shift or supply demand more efficiently.

Measure and monitor supplier relationships/ performance for assigned category to ensure that contract value is delivered and seek improvement opportunities to further drive value.

Conduct review of actual performance in comparison to sourcing and supplier management expected outcomes for assigned category to prioritize / renew agreement and continue with supplier management or re-negotiate / re-source it.

Create a good understanding of the market complexities of the specific category and ensures that value drivers are monitored and acted upon.

Desired Profile

Bachelors degree in engineering or supply chain management or equivalent

A minimum of 8 years procurement related experience, preferably in the oil and gas or Engineering sector.

Experience developing category strategy, and category plans, and identifying opportunities to optimize total cost of ownership through the supply chain.

Experience with strategic sourcing, planning and conducting negotiations, measuring and managing supplier performance, and balanced scorecard development.

Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate a cross-functional team in strategy development, project planning and execution.

Demonstrated ability to work in a team, build consensus and resolve issues. Proactive communicator who establishes a good customer network and stakeholder relationships.

Demonstrated ability to conduct various types of assessments and analyses to fully understand a particular market and develop appropriate strategies for the category.

Ability to develop cost models and total cost of ownership models.

Ability to develop a sound business case based on analyses.

Job Description

Key Result Areas

Collects and analyzes data, monitors current state of category implementation and captures best practices and lessons learned, and identifies potential gaps and opportunities to provide necessary inputs for Category Plans.

Assist in the implementation of Category Management through the use of Process Tools and templates to on time development of category plan & sourcing strategies.

Supports Category Management team through benchmarking, research, keeping abreast of current events, economic climates and country regulations to ensure that necessary business inputs are available for category management team.

Responsible for collecting and maintenance of category management metrics and scorecards used by procurement management to communicate departmental performance

Conducts assessment of category supply base/market assessment and commercial climate,

Conducts secondary market research and develops an analysis of current state of market, industry capability that meets Bapcos business needs requirements.

Provides supplier based analysis to support qualification of suppliers and development of supplier relationships.

Supports business and organize/conduct other meetings and events involving Bapco and supplier representatives.

Job Context
This position support category management team on developing category strategies by providing information, analysis of market, suppliers, products etc.
The position need to work on researching suppliers economic, technological development to provide necessary input to supplier sourcing. The secondary research is generally carried out through use of various literatures, internet information, business magazines and journals. The position will support and participate in business and supplier engagement sessions associated with category planning, strategic sourcing and supplier management.
Position must ensure accuracy and efficiency of reports, data and tasks, including the resolution of escalated items, while keeping the Superintendent, Business Optimization and Support informed of any urgent issues. Majority of work time is spent in climate controlled office.

Communications and Working Relationships

Frequent interaction with category management team, and expert /professional level in line departments.
External communication with suppliers to collect relevant information for different analysis.

Framework Boundaries, Decision Making authority and responsibility

Works independently on gathering of information and carrying out analysis. The output from the analysis is used by category management team for making decisions on sourcing decisions; as such position doesnt have any decision-making authority.
Partners with any/all departments on issues related to categories.

The work is guided by companys category policies and procedures.

Independently works on assigned category and refers to management for more critical and complex issues.

No direct decision making authority, all decisions are governed by higher authorities.

Desired Profile

Knowledge Skills and Experience

Bachelors Degree in International Business/ Engineering/ Supply Chain Management or other business degree.

Minimum five years of experience in conducting market, supplier analysis in procurement function preferably in oil & gas industry.

Excellent communication skills
