Job description
A postdoctoral position is available in the Chemical Kinetics and Laser Sensors Laboratory of the Clean Combustion Research Center (CCRC) at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). Candidates with experience in one or more of the following research areas are encouraged to apply:

(1) Combustion Kinetics / Combustion Chemistry
(2) Experimental devices for chemical kinetics research (e.g. shock tube, rapid compression machine, flow reactors, low-pressure flames)

Qualifications
A successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in a related field with experience in one or more of the aforementioned areas of research.

Appointment, salary and benefits
Appointment period: One year, renewable annually for three years.
Salary: Highly competitive depending on qualification and experience. No income tax is paid in Saudi Arabia.
Other benefits: Free furnished housing, free health care (medical and dental), 20 days annual vacation, annual repatriation tickets.

About:
The Clean Combustion Research Center (http://ccrc.kaust.edu.sa) conducts basic and applied research in the field of combustion. Topics of interest include: fuel formulation, oxy-fuel combustion, chemical kinetics, carbon capture, turbulent combustion, laser diagnostics, soot formation, sprays, flame-based nanoparticle synthesis, turbulent aerosols, and novel combustion concepts. The CCRC research program synergistically combines experimental and computational approaches.

The Chemical Kinetics and Laser Sensors Laboratory (http://kinetics.kaust.edu.sa) carries out research in the areas of Combustion and Propulsion, Energy, Chemical Kinetics, Spectroscopy and Laser Diagnostics. We focus on the development of advanced experimental techniques and apply these to understand fundamental processes in traditional and renewable energy-conversion devices. The laboratory is currently equipped with two unique shock tube facilities, a rapid compression machine, and a number of laser systems.
