Title:
CONSULTANT PEDIATRIC INTENSIVIST CARE UNIT
-Organizational Relationships:
-Responsible to: Chief of Pediatrics.
-Responsible for: Senior Registrars, Registrars, Residents and Interns as assigned.
-Liaises with : Physicians, nursing staff, ancillary department staff, patients and families.
-Job Summary:
-Consultant Pediatric Intensivist is responsible for the medical care of PICU with input from the primary physician and/or subspecialist.
-Duties and Responsibilities:
-Participates in the on-call rota of the PICU for patients care and admissions, and participation in the daily morning reports.
-Participates in all departmental activities as outlined for Pediatric Consultant.
-Conduct regular rounds on patients admitted to PICU.
-Be available in emergency to offer advice on problems related to intensive care.
-Complies with the standards and regulations outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws.
-Comply with the standards laid down by the Approved International Accreditation Standards.
-Through the chain of command and/or occurrence variance report, identifies any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the Hospital or standard of service for patients, employees or visitors and situations that put patients, staff or visitors at risk for injury or other harm.
-Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.
-Education/Licensure:
-Certified in Pediatrics by Arab Board, Saudi Board, MRCP, American Board, Canadian Board, or FACHARZT or its international equivalent recognized by the Kingdom.
-Current valid licensure to practice Medicine in the Kingdom.
-Professional Experience:
-At least (6) six years related experience after obtaining high medical qualification (., MRCP, Arab Board, American Board, Canadian Board, FACHARZT etc.).
-Preferably trained and has worked in UK, USA, Canada, Germany, or other countries with equivalent standards.
-Specialized Knowledge:
-Fluent in written and spoken English. Fluency in written and spoken Arabic in preferred.
-Emotionally stable and in good physical health; able to work extended hours under stress.
