Sourcing Specialist – Region Procurement

Weatherford Canada is actively searching for an experienced Sourcing Specialist to be based in our downtown Calgary, AB office. Reporting to the Region Procurement Manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for developing category management strategies to achieve business objectives and profitability and for supporting the vendor prequalification program by reviewing all new vendors and auditing existing vendors based on KPI’s.

The Sourcing Specialist will leverage our scale; identifying opportunities for savings by aggregating regional spend in their category and will be responsible for monthly reporting/tracking of savings, reviewing agreements and renegotiating renewals.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

Leads the following activities:  supplier qualification against WFT’s global procurement policy and business requirements, coordinate resolution of supplier manufacturing/​process/​quality issues and associated corrective actions, audits of suppliers’ prequalification documentation.

Assists in the following activities (working in conjunction with a variety of WFT stakeholders): develop strategic and/or critical vendors to ensure they meet our prequalification requirements, helps our vendors maintain their status on our Approved Supplier List, liaise with business units and Supply Chain to schedule Vendor Audits

Co-manages the Audit process in collaboration with various WFT stakeholders at Business Unit, Region and Global levels

Works with Category Management and Business Unit/Manufacturing procurement teams to define qualification levels of suppliers for the set of commodities/suppliers responsible (i.e. approved, approved with conditions, not qualified)

Designs and implement effective supplier communication process ensuring timely feedback and corrective action process

Reacts appropriately in a timely manner to provide direction/guidance to WFT stakeholders and vendors to correct vendor management issues

QUALIFICATIONS

7-10 years’ experience in Supply Chain sourcing / category management background

Supply Chain Management Professional (SCM) designation or equivilent experience.

ISO and/or API exposure/knowledge/experience would be an asset

Strong MS Office skill set – especially Excel

Strong customer service skills (verbal and written communication, influencing without authority, issue resolution, etc.)

Excellent organizational and prioritization skills as well as a mature, professional demeanor.

Must be an effective team player

Ability to travel (10% of time)

Ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities.
