JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB PURPOSE
Operate and maintain the overdrive system in accordance with approved company and industry standards, quality procedures, and safety guidelines, and within the scope of the overdrive engineer’s competency level to ensure the integrity of the client’s wells. Liaise and advise the client as applicable on the integrity of the clients tubing/casing and operational procedures, accurately complete and maintain a job log and complete job reports. As and when required assist the onshore team with client pre & post operational meetings and surveys. Visit potential work sites and carry out overdrive compatibility survey as per Weatherford overdrive survey report guidelines.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for complying with Weatherford and Clients HSE policies whilst ensuring all personnel carry out work in safe manner
Responsible for undertaking all necessary risk assessments, attending pre job safety meetings, undertaking safety audits, attend Weatherford and Customer operational learning sessions and prepare incident and accident reports
Responsible for advising drill crew and support personnel of any potential safety hazards associated with Weatherford equipment
Responsible for undertaking rig surveys for potential Overdrive operations when required
Operate overdrive system (750 ton & Modular), torque turn units, power tongs and all TRS equipment relevant to the operation within client’s requirements and in compliance with TRS Work Instructions, Procedures and Competence System to maintain integrity of the client’s wells
With assistance from the team if present, maintain and function check overdrive system(750 ton & Modular), torque turn units, power tongs and all TRS equipment relevant to the operation in compliance with TRS Work Instructions, Procedures and Competence System to ensure equipment is operational
Liaise and advise the client representative and Weatherford Technical Advisor on the integrity or condition of the client’s tubing/casing prior to the operation commencing. All checks must conform to the TRS Work Instructions and Procedures
Responsible for checking all TRS equipment called off by client at Weatherford facility before it is shipped offshore paying particular attention to equipment of a specialised nature
Liaise with Weatherford onshore support staff to ensure adequate equipment is available at the worksite to meet operational requirements
Responsible for delegating tasks within the team as appropriate to team member’s competency level
In compliance with company’s Competency system assess offshore service and Jam personnel submitting specific assessment paperwork to the operations department for processing
In compliance with company’s appraisal system undertake appraisals of offshore service and Jam personnel and submit paperwork to the operations department for processing
Accurately complete and maintain a log of the work done during operations in compliance with Weatherford TRS Work Instructions. Relay this information to the operations department to enable evaluation of the work completed and to allow continual improvement for client and company
Responsible for down loading well specific torque turn graphs post operation and submit to the Technical Advisor with torque turn paperwork
Responsible for ensuring that all Overdrive systems (750 ton & Modular), torque turn units and all TRS equipment is returned to the facility highlighting any faults. Any equipment which is to remain onboard for future operations will be logged with the Client and detailed on the operation report and brought to the technical advisor and customer coordinators attention
Responsible for completing job reports. Report details to be comprehensive and should highlight as a minimum, operational summary, footage ran, footage washed down, footage rotated, footage reamed, equipment performance, personnel performance, NPT, customer evaluation and completed task based risk assessment
Using proprietary software, calculate potential Torque & Drag statistics for Overdrive work scope, to enable optimum tool performance during casing operation
Contact Operations department on a daily basis or as instructed to receive job and check-in details. Additionally, attend pre and post job briefings as instructed to ensure the communication of issues and information is shared
Attend company, client and industry training as instructed by Technical Advisor
Responsible for the upkeep of own training and competency portfolio
In addition to specified duties, personnel will be required to:
Carry out Overdrive surveys on offshore installation
Carry out offshore audits on conventional casing running operations
Carry out conventional casing running duties when required in line wih operational demands
Be willing to work in adverse weather conditions
Be willing to work on an on call rota and be available to work with less than 24 hour notification
Be willing to fly offshore by helicopter
Be willing to assist the operation and coordinator departments during periods of vacation, sickness and when operational demands dictate
Be willing to attend pre-spud and Wash-up meetings organised by the Client and feedback information to the onshore support team
Be willing to travel worldwide to carry out Overdrive work scopes
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Good working knowledge of TRS equipment
The ability to communicate with people at all levels - written, verbal and listening
Ability to work under own initiative or as part of a team
Supervisor & Leadership Skills
Knowledge of Computer Software including Word, Excel & PowerPoint
Strong interpersonal skills
Weatherford Overdrive training course
Working knowledge of top drive make up systems

QUALIFICATIONS
Offshore survival certificate
Minimum Standards – Safe Start, Manual Handling, Risk Assessment
Preferred
Electrical and or electronic qualification – HND
Mechanical/Hydraulic qualification – HND
Qualification covering competence objectives of Weatherford Overdrive systems
Accredited supervisory skills training course e.g. ILM Supervisor Course
Driving license
