Summary:

Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading the work of engineering employees. The Engineering Manager is responsible for planning and maintaining work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of its people and other resources within the department. Lead engineering team and build an engineering organization as a profit center. D esign and develop PCB products and systems for aerospace, commercial, industrial, medical, and scientific instruments use employing knowledge of electronic theory and materials properties.

Essential Functions:

Sell engineering design services

Manage multiple internal of engineering projects

Manage outside engineering sources

Work with new engineering customers

Experienced in developing effective and efficient procedures.

Develop standards and templates related to project quality, execution and documentation.

Engineering experienced in technology development, system and product architecture, electronic hardware, software, and packaging design, and NPI/release to manufacturing.

Direct engineering staff in formulating designs, quotes and cost estimates, and specifications through application of professionally accepted engineering techniques, practices, and procedures.

Supervise the design of electronic circuits and components for use in fields such as aerospace, commercial, industrial, medical, and scientific instruments.

Ensures that engineering work conforms to high technical, Quality1345 standards, and meets or exceeds all requirements.

Prepare staff work schedules and assign specific duties.

Review engineering designs, specifications of electronic systems, to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.

Implement department structure to increase efficiencies and customer satisfaction.

Interface directly with various departments including, but not limited to, sales, materials, operations, quality, and finance to communicate changes and ensure compliance.

Lead the group in a manner that creates high morale and delivers excellent results

Develop and coach engineers for increased performance

Conduct annual performance review.

Achieves electrical engineering operational objectives by contributing electrical engineering information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining administrative system improvements; implementing change.

Education and Skills

The ideal candidate must have an Electrical Engineering degree with ten (10) years of engineering management experience. The successful candidate will provide leadership and managerial structure to ensure the day to day operations of the department run smoothly, accurately track engineering for various projects as well as plan strategically for growth of the department. Strong engineering leadership and business experience is a must. PC Board design experience for variety of industries aerospace, commercial, medical, and industrial clients. Excellent written/verbal communication skills, experience in implementing cultural change in the engineering department and computer literate and proficient with MS Office and various engineering Altium and SolidWorks CAD systems.
