Responsibilities:

The Culinary Business Resource Specialist creates, prepares, presents, educates and assists customers on menu planning, menu analysis and recipe development

through consultation, Sysco business resources, training and customer assistance.

Partner with Business Resource Specialists, Marketing Associates and Sales Management in designing content, preparation and education for Business Reviews.
*
Work with Marketing Department on all potential marketing activities. Create, plan and implement all promotional and incentive activities that will increase sales and GP related to Business Review.
* Work with the Marketing Department and other Specialists on potential customer related activities. Create, plan and implement with other Specialist customer related activities that will increase sales and GP related to Business Review.
* Create, plan and implement all food show, prospect open house and customer contact activities with other Specialists and the Marketing Department related to Business Review. Work with management regarding other Sysco company food shows.
* Work closely with the Sales Department to prioritize activities for increased sales & GP within assigned regions, districts and MA’s. Sales activities need to be prioritized to increase sales of Sysco brand and other key featured products. Make sales contacts that maximize sales and profitability.
* Develop and execute performance plan goals aligned with Senior Sales Management and Sysco to drive profitable sales and case growth.
* Remain current with industry knowledge as it relates to Sysco business now and in the future.

Research, develop and execute innovative and strategic initiatives to drive positive results in support of profit plan goals.

*
Partner with the Sysco Sales Team to provide advice to customers on issues relating to building their business; recommend products, design menus, and develop recipe ideas.

Promote Sysco brand items and support other sales initiatives.

*
Provide internal and external training on products and applications.

*
Provide value added services in the areas of menus, operations, training, recipes and labor reduction.

Identify and work with Gold Medal Customers. Prioritize our Gold Customers and identify their unique product requirements. Coordinate activities with Sales Department but maintain direct contact with these customers and increasing sales.

Assist in the sale of excess or slow moving inventory items by coordinating with the Merchandising Department, Sales Department, the supplier involved, and with direct customer contact.

Facilitate culinary presentations for customer business reviews. Provide off-site support as needed.

Attend Sysco Tech meetings for training and sharing of information.

Inform management of trends, issues, and concerns learned during sales activities that may impact Sysco.

Personally develop and maintain business relationships with Sysco customers.

Must be willing to travel on an as needed basis.

Qualifications:

* A minimum of five (5+) years job related experience in a foodservice role, experience in Sales / Marketing would be an asset.
* Culinary training or designation highly desirable.
* Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with customers, MA’s, Sales Management, Merchandisers, Merchandising Management, Marketing Department Staff, all Specialists and and Office Staff.
* Distinguished professional able to deliver dynamic sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
* Outstanding interpersonal skills are a must.
* Strong negotiation skills and ability to build strategic working relationships.
* Demonstrated excellence in customer service, time management and detail oriented skills.

High School diploma or GED required.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.

*
A minimum of three to five years Culinary experience.

*
Must have computer skills in order to utilize sales tools and techniques and be proficient with office

applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

*
Must possess and maintain a valid State of California Driver’s License. A conviction for DUI within the last three years will render the candidate ineligible to apply.

Must obtain and provide adequate liability insurance as determined by Sysco ($300,000 per accident, $100,000 per person, $100,000 property and uninsured motorist $30,000/$60,000).
