Description

We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Sr. Financial Analyst to work with limited supervision and will be responsible for the development of financial and business analytics supporting the Latin America and Canada executive team. Working closely with the country finance leads, the Sr. Financial Analyst will assist in the monthly financial close process, prepare variance analysis and lead the coordination of quarterly forecasts and the annual operating plan, in addition to various ad-hoc requests.

The Sr. Financial Analyst is also expected to recommend, interpret and implement St. Jude Medical specific policies and procedures to accomplish assignments; resolve a broad range of issues and challenges, sometimes with limited information; identify and routinely use the most effective, cost efficient and best business practices while remaining current on developments in field(s) of expertise. The analyst will develop sophisticated financial models for department use for reporting/analyzing operating results, perform analysis/review of operating results, assists with monthly financial corporate reporting, and create new reports as needed, in addition to preparing financial evaluation of projects within the Division to assure adherence to financial objectives.

It is imperative for this role to exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing and performing assigned tasks while assuring that quality of services meets internal and external customer requirements. Problem solving, quick thinking and ability to deal with ambiguity are key attributes for this role.

**Impact this role will have on St. Jude Medical:**

* Supports the finance organization during the Strategic and Operating planning processes and quarterly forecasts.
* Meets with country management teams to review operating results and provides variance analysis.
* Analyzes actual operating results compared to Plan and forecast and verifies, investigates and quantifies variances and their impact.
* Performs Return on Investment Analysis for capital expenditures as necessary to assure the appropriate financial return to the Company.
* Maintains relevant databases to consolidate analyze and communicate divisional forecasts.
* Calculates accruals to accurately report expenses and prepares appropriate journal entries.
* Participates on special projects and performs other related duties as assigned.
* Prepares weekly sales reports.
* Maintains all month-end reporting packages.
* Maintains financial forecast model.
* Navigates in multiple database platforms to provide necessary analytics and synthesizes results
* Create action plans, solicit buy in and implement plans based on analysis and reporting results.
* Serves as subject matter expert for assigned entity and leads special projects as assigned by finance department.
* Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.

***Required:***

* Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related discipline.
* 5+ years of general financial analysis, general accounting and/or strategic planning experience in a financially sophisticated corporate environment or equivalent environment.
* Demonstrated ability to apply the fundamental & intermediate concepts and practices of the Finance profession.
* Demonstrated written and verbal communication, interpersonal, presentation, analytical, statistical, organizational, and follow-up skills, the ability to meet deadlines as well as the ability to converse effectively with all levels of employees.
* Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
* Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
* Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
* Must be able to create financial models in excel and/or maintain existing models
* Demonstrated basic personal computer skills including experience with relevant financial systems/applications, financial modeling, word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel and Access).
* Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.

**_Desired:_**

* An appropriate professional certification.
* Previous related experience (3-5 years) in the areas of Financial Planning (FP&A;), Sales Support Finance and Accounting.
* Demonstrated familiarity/experience with Hyperion Essbase strongly desired.
* Demonstrated familiarity/experience with SAP.
* Bi-lingual (English and Spanish and/or Portuguese).
