Tendo Communications/San Francisco, CA

IF you know everything about every new social media platform and tool that's sprouting daily (Tout, Xing, Pinterest, Wimp) and those “old†platforms that are quickly evolving (YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Slideshare, Twitter, blogs); IF you love playing and experimenting with those tools; IF you have strategic ideas (and experience) for applying them in B2B situations; and IF you have a mathematical, metrics-oriented mind and dream of new ways to measure social media ROI, this job's for you.

We're looking for a Social Media Jack of all Trades, someone who can roll up their sleeves and support client work with powerful tweets, posts and Instagrams but who can also see the bigger picture and contribute to creating custom social strategies for different client challenges and desired results. You are also adept at knowing how to measure the performance of different social platforms and can synthesize/analyze those metrics. Finally, at a minimum, you keep up to date on social media best practices, but ideally, you're confident enough to define and drive them.

Areas of Responsibility

• Social content. When our clients have major events and campaigns, we help them turn up the volume. You'll tweet, post to Facebook, seed LinkedIn Groups, post to Slideshare and other platforms as appropriate. You'll also supply “blogger cheat sheets†to help bloggers blog better. In other words, you'll write compelling and effective B2B social content.

• Community management/moderation. You're an excellent online facilitator, know how to listen, and understand the needs of different communities. You'll seed and moderate conversations on various community platforms, from Lithium to Jive to LinkedIn. You're also talented at creating polls and quizzes that with which audiences want to engage.

• Influence. You understand online influence—how it's earned, how to find out who's influential around a specific topic, how to engage with influencers (and how not to), and how to measure it. You'll work with subject matter expert clients to define their area of influence, identify with whom online they should be engaging, measure baseline influence, and then partner with them on tactics to grow their influence. And then show them how their influence has grown after working with you.

• Strategy. Different client situations require different approaches to social media. You'll contribute to defining the strategies we propose for client events and marketing campaigns. You know how to connect the dots between goals, audience and success metrics, and you're adept at helping put it all together into a cohesive presentation.

• Metrics. You'll define key performance indicators for different client social media engagements as well as collect the data from social platforms as well as analyze it and explain its significance to clients. You'll come up with innovative ways to measure reach, engagement, influence and how social content can set up an audience to move through the buying cycle.

Qualifications

• At least 3-5 years of full-time work experience, preferably with B2B client contact experience. And preferable with PR agency experience.

• Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communications skills; editorial or journalism experience is a big plus.

• Knowledge of or experience with enterprise technology (vs. PC technology).

• Thorough knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Slideshare; passionate about Tout, Pinterest, Instagram, and any other new platform.

• Experience using social platform tools like Hootsuite and/or Buddy Media, influence tools like eCairn; measurement tools like Radian6, and others.

• Brilliant analytical mind to explore and develop new ways of defining and measuring social metrics. Ability to measure reach, depth, influence, engagement, share of conversation, influencer share of audience and other results expected of social content.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Powerpoint.

We're looking for a smart, scrappy social media expert who's not afraid of hard work and creative thinking, can collaborate with a team, partner with clients and have a ton of fun. This is a contract position initially with strong potential to grow into permanent employment. Please submit your resume with salary history and a link to your portfolio or blog to jobs@tendocom.com. Please no calls.
