The Division
We're creating a new standalone bank in the UK which will be made up of the RBS branches in England & Wales and NatWest branches in Scotland. It will be a strong, full service Personal, Private, SME and Corporate bank, and well positioned for the future. This new bank, which is due to launch by the end of 2016 will be known as 'Williams & Glyn' and is also referred to publicly as 'Rainbow'.

The Requirements
Operational Risk is defined as "the risk of loss resulting from failed or inadequate internal processes, people and systems and from external events."
At the core of our Risk Function is Operational Risk, this role provides an exciting opportunity to be part of Williams & Glyn through key stages in the journey from creation of an Operational Risk Function to support the Banking Licence application to providing second line of defence oversight to a standalone bank. Our operational risk framework operates as a continuous cycle of activity that works across four distinct stages: Identification of what risks we face; assessmentof our exposure and how much risk is acceptable; controlling and managing our risks and monitoring & reporting our risks.
Purpose of the role
To manage and support the RSA Archer eGRC software system in W&G.
To provide support as required to Operational Risk SMEs.
Key Accountabilities
In respect of the Archer EGRC software system (the System):
Develop and manage the delivery of appropriate training to the end user population.
Provide day-to-day oversight of the use of the System across W&G.
Design, implement and manage a framework for the control over user access to the System.
Manage quality control of data entered into the System by generating and reviewing reports.
Manage and change configuration of the System as required.
Provide support for the building of reports from the System as required.
Manage engagement with the System vendor (RSA) to manage activities such as involvement in customer forums, software version upgrades, bug fixes, etc.
Maintenance and updating of business requirements documentation and configuration specifications as the System evolves to remain fit for purpose to support all Lines of Defence in the management of enterprise-wide operational risks.
Support a user acceptance testing programme following changes and upgrades.
In respect of general support for Operational Risk SMEs:
Ensuring Risk Assessments, Issues / Findings & Action Plans, Events & Loss Data, Scenarios, Key Risk Indicators and such like are properly recorded in the System.
Transitional responsibilities
Support development of appropriate Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) to specify the standalone W&G functional needs.
Ensure all standalone W&G workflows for processes and procedures are accurately captured in the BRDs.
Work with the software vendor to deliver appropriate Functional Specification Documents.
Liaise with all relevant stakeholders to ensure their expectations are understood and reflected.
Develop appropriate training materials and programme for the end user community, and manage delivery thereof..
Knowledge and Experience
Good understanding of, and experience of delivery and support of, eGRC software systems.
Good understanding of operational risk management processes and procedures, particularly in financial services, including but not limited to:
Risk Assessments;
Issues / Findings Management & Action Plans;
Event & Loss Data Management;
Scenario Analysis; and
Key Risk Indicator frameworks.
Good understanding of three lines of defence risk management model.
Strong track record of achievement and delivery.
The ability to manage and influence senior and business stakeholders and drive through challenging initiatives.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Technical Skills and Qualifications
Excellent understanding of eGRC software systems including ability to configure such systems.
Ability to span the gap between the business and technology.
Ability to solve multi-dimensional problems to fit the use of the System.
Ability to develop reports from the System.
