Purpose of the Role:  Why does this job/ role exist, what value does it add?
As an Analyst, he will be in a role managing a global storage infrastructure that has variety of Storage platforms. These platforms include EMC, Netapp, and HP 3PAR...Etc.

The Responsibilities

Activities: What does the jobholder have to do?
• The role is responsible for overseeing day to day operations of storage devices of remote Data centers as well as local. This is a key role within the organization and is the main point of contact for any escalation issues and will be interacting with global peer as well as direct interaction with local management.  The Analyst has to encompass a number of skills that are imperative to this role such as managing multivendor storage infrastructure.
Key deliverables: What are the key outcomes and what does the jobholder have to produce (objectives)?
• Provide and maintain the overall operational quality, service delivery and security compliance within Unix & Storage Operations for the EMC Networker infrastructure
Scope of Role: What decision is the job/ role responsible for?
• Provide operational support coverage, escalation & excellent support capabilities in terms of resources and skills.

Essential Experience: What previous experience is required to do this job/role?
Essential:
EMC Storage provisioning on Symmetrix and DMX. Knowledge of SRDF and Time Finder is must. Assist in infrastructure maintenance activities such as software/hardware upgrades Provide input and support for infrastructure and application development projects that require storage infrastructure Liaise with storage vendors on break/fix and production support issues Take part in the follow-the-sun support model covering the UK, US and Asia regions.
To provide systems administration support to all enterprise storage platforms managed by RBS Technology including capacity management, hardware support and associated toolsets to configure and monitor the estate: SAN storage (EMC Symmetrix, Clariion and 3par Inserv), Fibre Channel switched fabric (Cisco), NAS storage (NetApp Filers), and CAS (Content Addressed Storage EMC Centera). EMC SAN Storage arrays Clariion, DMX and V-Max, EMC ControlCentre (ECC), SYMCLI, NaviSphere and Performance tools (Workload Analyser, Performance Manager, STP Navigator, etc), Virtual Provisioning EMC SRDF and TimeFinder array based replication products
Cisco MDS SAN switches, Cisco Fabric Manager NetApp NAS Storage arrays
FAS2000 and 3000 series Filers, NetApp Operations Manager (DFM)
NetApp SnapShot and SnapMirror array based replication products EMC
Centera CAS arrays 3par SAN Storage arrays T & F-series InServ arrays, System Reporter and Thin Provisioning Previous experience as a platform System Administration Desirable.

Volume Manager, VERITAS
File System, VERITAS Cluster Server

Desirable:

• Linux/Solaris Administration
• Educational/ Professional Qualifications (Preferred):
BSc./BCA/BE/BTech/ MCA/ MBA, Any engineering
