Position Summary:

The Social Media Manager leads and executes the company's day-to-day immersion in the social networking realm. This includes, but not limited to Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google+. This is a centralized role reporting into the overall, corporate marketing organization. The position also has interaction with multiple levels and departments within the company.

In this capacity, he/she has hands-on responsibility for successfully increasing the company's visibility, influence, and interaction with its target market through diverse, social media outlets. The right individual should have a personal passion for the medium and eagerness to bring new ideas/tactics designed to take the program to the next level.

Primary Responsibilities:

– Develop a cohesive, social media program designed to stimulate traffic, generate buzz, increase brand awareness, and help grow organic search rankings.

– Create compelling content and cultivate conversations that resonate with tiered audiences to: deepen presence and engagement; promote company spokespeople as “go-to†commentators with media & bloggers; and enhance product/service preference vis-à-vis competitors.

– Solicit, mentor and manage individual contributor participation across various channels.

– Assist in monitoring discussion boards and forums

– Establish a content curation strategy and process to harvest relatable, high-quality original and third- party content.

– Coordinate program execution with other disciplines including SEM/SEO/traditional advertising/PR/specific campaigns/etc. as required.

– Propose additional strategies and outlets to continuously evolve the program and keep it fresh; implement upon acceptance.

– Assess the effectiveness of all social media efforts via tracking, analyzing and presenting meaningful measurements for both marketing and non-marketing audiences.

– Work with third-party vendors and PR agency in executing social media campaigns

– Stay up to date on new social media trends, tools and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

– 5-7 years of professional social media experience internal to a mid- to large-size company in the business-to-business (B2B) segment preferably in the high-tech or telecom industries.

– BA/BS in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications or related field of study.

– Proven experience in conceiving and implementing social media programs including: Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, corporate blogs, Google+, and other online communities.

– Excellent written and digital communications skills; adept at audience engagement and tone setting.

– Proficient with social media publishing platforms, monitoring & aggregation techniques, SEO linking, and analytics.

– Be able to interact successfully at all levels of the company, serve as an internal social media champion, and thrive under deadline-driven challenges.

– Particular preference may be given to candidates with high-tech journalism/PR and social media backgrounds.

– International experience, working with or within other nationalities/countries a plus.
