We are seeking a Senior Integrated Product QA Engineer with the skills and the passion to help ensure quality into releases by improving effective usability, performance and stability of the world's largest content delivery networks. Team members will work collaboratively and independently on design, implementation, maintenance and making improvements to test cases, tools and automation within their team. Ideal candidate will have a passion for customer satisfaction and will have the experience-working cross functionally to achieve that goal.
About the Team
The Integrated Product QA Team is responsible for testing the integration of product modules and components that provide configurable features in Akamai's Self Service Portal. This group interfaces with core networks that utilize the portal technologies to create custom configurations and focuses on real-world, end-to-end system testing to ensure all of Akamai's component, modules and networking systems integrate successfully.
Responsibilities:
- Author, execute and update test cases in Akamai's test management system.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members within and across business units to leverage internal product knowledge and expertise for optimum efficiency.
- Manage and organize projects independently to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
- Work closely with Product Management, Services, Developers, QA and others to design, develop, implement and improve test methodologies, test plans and create effective test automation.
- Diagnose, debug and perform root-cause analysis of issues and defects and present findings.
- Guide and mentor SQA Team Members.
- Create, maintain and execute manual and automated integrated product/system tests to replicate real-world scenarios by leveraging Use Cases and/or User Stories.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in server side and/or UI development and/or QA Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of technical working experience with UNIX/Linux/Windows environments and HTTP/S, DNS, TCP/IP networking protocols.
- Minimum of 3 years experience with Object-Oriented design and development.
- Minimum of 3 years experience with HTML, CSS JavaScript.
- Minimum of 2 years of product/system integration testing.
- Minimum of 2 years experience coding in Java.
- Minimum of 1 year of test automation experience using Selenium.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiar with Java server side development.
- Experience with C++/C#, Java and/or other similar languages.
- Experience with scripting languages.
- Experience with Selenium (Grid, RC or WebDriver), HTMLUnit, ImageMagik.
- Experience in building test frameworks and harnesses.
- Experience with XML and SQL databases.
- Experience with large-scale, distributed, large-volume real-time systems.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Highly driven, positive attitude, team player, self-motivated and very flexible.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to work in an agile environment while achieving project deadlines.

- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Experience using JIRA, Bugzilla, Perforce, Eclipse or similar tools.
