About This Opportunity

The Manager, Digital Architecture is responsible for leading the design and development of multi-channel technical solutions to enhance the experience of the Target guest. In addition, the role is responsible for ensuring cross-channel, front-end technical consistency, whenever possible.

The Manager, Digital Architecture will partner with and lead the Platform Planning, User Experience, Digital Experience Operations, Creative, Target Technical Services, and other business partners to develop technical roadmaps – by channel and digital product – that promote flexibility and opportunities for future innovation.

- Develop team processes, policies and procedures and work with server-side development, interactive creative, and project management teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality, secure and standard-compliant interactive projects.

- Develop and socialize front-end technical roadmaps that maximize opportunities to further the guest experience while maintaining functionality for legacy software.

- Design, develop and implement client side interactive marketing and selling tools utilizing Flash ActionScript, JavaScript, HTML, XML, CSS, and integration of Target's web services, APIs and 3rd party tools.

- Lead scoping, design, development, and testing of multi-channel solutions and associated systems in support of Target digital experiences.

- Work in conjunction with development resources including Target Technical Services and external vendors to support technology infrastructure utilized by creative and project management resources. This includes, but is not limited to: software development, change requests, enhancements, bug fixes, workflow design and analysis, software/systems integration, functional requirements, and resource benchmarking.

- Develop and communicate requirements specifications, tracking, escalation, and solution implementation procedures.

- Research and educate self and Digital Experience team on new guest technologies and development tools as needed.

- Leads portfolio of initiatives that solve organization challenges and develops innovative new guest experiences with internal and external partners.

- Lead prototyping exercises with internal and external partners to advocate and evangelize the multi-channel guest experience.

- Leads team of User Experience Solutions Architecture and Engineering team members and exemplifies “leader as coach†behavior

Requirements

- Degree in computer science (or equivalent experience) preferred

- 7+ years interactive development work experience

- Macintosh and PC hardware and software knowledge. Specifically, the Adobe CS Suite (including Flash, Photoshop, and Illustrator), the Microsoft Office suite, and Visio. Experience with wiki platforms (i.e., MediaWiki, Confluence), bug tracking tools (i.e., JIRA) desired.

- Advanced coding in HTML, JHTML, XML/XSLT, CSS, ActionScript and JavaScript (jQuery, YUI, non-framework, and JSON)

- Experience establishing repeatable processes, frameworks, and developmental standards

- Creation of technical design documentation and comprehensive functional specifications

- Ability to seamlessly alternate between dealing with highly technical teams and non-technical business teams
