Zen Tropical is a company managing a Luxury Guest House/boutique style hotel, trading as The Bay. The Company is looking for an Accounts Officer. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the local accounting/administration/management teams.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Zen Tropical is a company managing a Luxury Guest House/boutique style hotel, trading as The Bay. The Company is looking for an Accounts Officer. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the local accounting/administration/management teams.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bookkeeping, cashbooks, bank reconciliations and creditors/debtors processing

Assist in preparation monthly management accounts

Assist in audit deliverables

Assist in preparation of annual budget

Ensure compliance requirement are met (VAT returns etc.)

Any other cognate and admin duties

RESPONSIBILITIES:

To Examine payment to Creditors and all other charge bills

To book entries in Cash Book, Ledger, Journal etc….

To Extract Trial Balance, keep Assets Register and Control Bank Balances

To maintain Proper Revenue Collection and Banking Systems

To assist in the preparation of Final Accounts

To compile schedules and information required for the preparation of Statutory reports and returns to regulator, annual estimates and final accounts

To maintain accounting records such as cash flow budgets and financial forecasts

To review reconciliation and ensure smooth follow-up of outstanding items i.e. bank reconciliation statement, prompt banking and payment

To prepare vouchers before payments

To verify all accounting statements produces for statutory purpose and management

To report on all internal audit matters and deficiencies and to propose remedial action

To ensure proper safeguard and banking of revenue collected

To monitor allocated budget for each item

Reconciliation of Accounting System to Solis PMS and Solis Accounting

Filing and safeguarding company’s assets, invoices, agreements and others

Any other cognate duties as may be entrusted to the candidate from time to time

REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of two years’ of working experience in an accounting position

A high level of planning, organisational and administration skills

The capacity to be self-reliant, dynamic, flexible and confident

The ability to work under pressure

Good written and verbal English and French communication

Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office

QUALIFICATION:

IDEAL:

Partly Qualified ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification with good results in Accounting and Mathematics at HSC Level.

University graduate in Accounting/Finance or related majors.

MINIMUM:

Higher School Certificate with Accounting

Diploma in Accounting/Finance from a recognised institution or ACCA Level 2 would be an advantage

2 year practical experience in accounting function

Knowledge of advance accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
