As the product leader of our direct marketing efforts, you will steer efforts around creating highly impactful customer-centric emails, which are received by millions of customers each day. As customer needs and behaviours change, you will also look at how Booking.com can further extend its reach by exploring other direct marketing, such as (but not limited to) SMS and push notifications.

You will work passionately alongside designers, developers, copywriters and other POs to make our traveller’s journey both on and off our site easier.

You have a proven track record and love engaging both on the short and long term with customers via meaningful and relevant conversations.

Your impact:

Be the voice of the customer and the driving force behind email and direct marketing innovation from in-depth product understanding to feature development through experimentation.

Build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including Product Owners and Brand Managers, to ensure marketing tactics and campaigns are aligned to drive incremental

Identify innovative ways to segment and challenge assumptions on the best measurement approach, working with the Analytics team where appropriate.

Own the plan for campaign activity, proactively identifying opportunities where automation can improve engagement and conversion, and implementing changes to capture these opportunities.

Take full ownership of the product, the prioritisation of new features and enhancements to existing features as well as set clear, measurable KPIs for each campaign.

Monitor analytics and understand results from your activity, including testing, and continually applying learnings to improve effectiveness of future campaigns

Build, coach and manage a high performing team of product owners Producing reports for management communicating the outcome and success of campaigns, while identifying opportunities for improvement.

Your experience:

8+ years experienced at delivering high impact email campaigns and working with other direct marketing channels such as SMS and push notifications

A deep understanding of customer acquisition, re-engagement and retention strategies.

A proven track record working on customer and product onboarding and bringing started conversations to the desired end goal.

Creating data selections and segmenting audiences.

Leading creative team(s) for email marketing campaigns

Strong analytical skills, data-obsessed and experience in working with marketing related data.

Experience with web analytics software such as Google analytics.

Experience with A/B testing or other multivariate testing.

Previous involvement with high traffic (50,000+ visitors per day), preferably E-commerce sites.

Knowledge and experience in conversion optimisation, digital marketing, UX design and/or consumer psychology and research is a plus.
