ACCREDITATION CANADA – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION

The Organization

A national, non-profit organization, Accreditation Canada’s mission is to drive quality through innovative approaches to accreditation and in so doing, provide excellence in quality health services for all.  With more than 1,000 clients at over 7,000 sites in 25 countries and more than 500 surveyors who volunteer time to the accreditation process, Accreditation Canada has grown to be one of the leading players in the global assessment, accreditation and standards arena.

An increasing focus on quality in health care has resulted in a growing interest in assessment and accreditation systems, and the globalization of standards.  Drivers of change include the pressure for healthcare systems to deliver better value through outcomes and efficiency, growing and aging populations with a prevalence of chronic diseases, a shift from independent providers to patient pathways across integrated health systems, patient empowerment, and the disruptive impact of technology and big data.

This growth in interest represents an opportunity for Accreditation Canada, through its International Accreditation division, to continue to expand its global reach by providing accreditation, advisory and education services to health service providers, governments and payers, NGOs and specialty associations/foundations, and local standards and assessment bodies around the world.

As 2016 comes to an end, so, too, does the current strategic plan.  Under the leadership of a new CEO, the Board and staff are in the final stages of developing a bold new strategic plan that will chart the future course of the organization.  In order to achieve its aspirational goal of being the No. 1 health standards and assessment organization by 2023, Accreditation Canada’s new and exciting vision for the future is dedicated to unleashing the power and potential of people around the world who share the passion for achieving quality health services for all.
