About SickKids

The Hospital for Sick Children (“SickKids”) is recognized as one of the world’s foremost pediatric healthcare institutions and is Canada’s leading centre dedicated to advancing children’s health through the integration of patient care, research and education. SickKids has been a leader and innovator in advancing children’s health issues and in utilizing technology, building alliances and sharing information to advance children’s healthcare and research nationally and internationally. SickKids is embarking on a major transformation in IMT including the implementation of an integrated clinical information system as well as an enterprise suite of business and decision support applications. Information is at the core of our business so this is an exciting opportunity to provide forward thinking for a ‘next generation’ information management vision to meet new clinical, operational and research challenges.

Provide leadership, direction and administration of Health Information Services including but not limited to records management (completion, retention, and destruction), coding, abstracting, transcription services, document imaging, release of information, data quality monitoring and clinical documentation improvement, ensuring compliance with established objectives, hospital policies and procedures as well as government/regulatory agencies

Oversee comprehensive coding data quality program (staff continuing education, physician engagement, quality assurance strategy) with dedicated monthly/quarterly/annual data quality audits aimed at ensuring acuity and complexity of cases is accounted for

Liaise with vendors and service providers to identify and select products and services that best support SickKids’ information strategies

Establish service level management, aligning information resources with business expectations for performance, availability, data quality and relevance
