Scarborough and Rouge Hospital – “Amalco”
Ontario’s health care system continues to innovate, improve and create integrated systems supporting a seamless care experience for patients. Recognizing the value of existing regional programs of excellence that successfully integrate service across the continuum of hospital and community care in Scarborough, two of Ontario’s leading community hospitals, Rouge Valley Health System and The Scarborough Hospital, are creating a new hospital corporation provisionally called Scarborough and Rouge Hospital, or “Amalco”. This new hospital corporation will build on the combined strengths and capacities of both organizations to achieve a broader continuum of consistent, quality health services for the residents of Scarborough.
The inaugural President and CEO of this amalgamated organization will have the prime responsibility to lead and support the exciting evolution of this single new hospital corporation, consisting of three sites: Rouge Valley Centenary; Scarborough Birchmount; and Scarborough General. Working with a new Board of Directors, the President and CEO will be responsible for developing a compelling and innovative vision, ensuring that the organization is driven by the priorities of quality and patient-centred care. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the President and CEO will build a truly integrated hospital system and, with other partners, an improved comprehensive health care delivery system for Scarborough.
As an exemplary, visionary executive leader, the candidate sought will champion a new “brand” for this amalgamated organization, and make strategy come alive through thoughtful operational execution. Possessing exceptional business acumen and financial sophistication, the President and CEO will ideally be conversant with the operational and clinical performance metrics and quality indicators integral to the leadership of a large, complex, community teaching hospital.
