A career at Collingwood General & Marine Hospital as a Business Intelligence Analyst offers you the opportunity to be actively engaged in all aspects of our Strategic Directions.

There are several major projects that the BI Analyst will be involved in over the next several years including implementation of a hospital wide BI Solution, implementation of the MEDITECH Data Repository, upgrade to the MEDITECH 6.1 platform as well as decisions support projects with the LHIN, MOHLTC and other provincial initiatives.

CGMH believes strongly in work/life balance, therefore this position may qualify for a schedule that includes working from home.

Position Scope

Reporting to the Manager, Health Information Systems/Privacy Officer  the BI Analyst will develop a strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of CGMH’s databases/applications and external health sector databases such iPort, IntelliHealth, Ontario Ministry of Health & Long Term Care, CIHI, Statistics Canada, etc. The BI Analyst will leverage these systems to extract and analyze data to deliver products to a diverse customer base within the organization.  They will provide analysis and recommendations on this data to assist the organization to make better decisions for managing our patient programs and services.

Qualifications/Skills:

College Diploma or University degree in a related discipline (Business Administration, Health Sciences, Health Information Management, Health Informatics) or equivalent combination of education and experience

Three (3) to five (5) years related experience in a Decision Support Analyst or Business Intelligence Analyst  role

Expert user of MS Office applications

Ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously

Strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills

Experience using other analytics and reporting tools such as Crystal, Cognos, SAS, SQL

Experience with MEDITECH Client Server is an asset

Experience with data warehousing methodologies, techniques and tools is an asset

Knowledge of ICD-10-CA/CCI as well as other health related data collection systems is an asset
