LiveText, a 15 year old, multi-million dollar, US-based educational technology company, is looking for experienced UI developers to add to its growing technology team in India. The best candidate for this position has significant understanding of design presentation and implementation, and has strong experience writing standards-compliant HTML and CSS code.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Work closely with US-based UI designer to create detailed and accurate code from static mockups into hand-crafted, standards-compliant HTML and CSS code that works across all major browsers
* Work with UI designer, project manager and developer to ensure designs can be accomplished within technical specifications and deadlines, and present ideas and solutions based on technical requirements
* Ability to consider and implement best strategy to ensure design and coding meets performance, usability, accessibility and scalability requirements
* Strong understanding of cross-browser / cross-platform issues and how to prevent and resolve them
* Troubleshoot and solve technical problems and develop efficient and reusable HTML and CSS code
* Participate in design and code review to ensure code meets all common coding and design guidelines
* Solid experience with CSS-based table-less page layouts
* Create usable & sophisticated layouts, good design and clean code
* Must be an HTML and CSS expert and have demonstrated experience building web applications using HTML5 and CSS3. Candidates without extensive HTML and CSS knowledge will not be considered.

* Active proponent of web standards, usability & accessibility
* Attention to detail and style is extremely essential
* Able to follow instructions efficiently
Requirements:
* B.Tech/B.E/MCA or equivalent from a reputed institute
* 5+ years front-end development experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript/JQuery.
* Expert-level proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/JQuery
* Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications
* Experience with scripting languages (PHP/Python/Perl/Ruby)
* Familiarity with Linux
* Ability to write reusable code for UI components
* Good eye for design and user experience
* Ability to work across time-zones when needed
Reporting and Compensation:
* The selected candidates will be based out of South Delhi office of LiveText India. The job may occasionally require travel to Chicago (US).
* The selected candidate will have a dual reporting requirement. Locally, to the India Head and functional reporting to Lead UI Designer (based in the US). In addition, they may also be required to report to team leaders or group leaders of individual assignments, based on the specific requirements of such assignments.
