The position of Associate, Supply Chain Services, in the Environmental Certification Services Division involves working directly on client-specific consulting projects related to responsible and sustainable sourcing and risk mitigation for large corporate clients. A smaller roll will involve the further development and administration of SCS' Responsible Biofuel Certification Services.
Roles and Responsibilities
Consulting Services
* Assist the Program Manager and other technical staff with the delivery of high quality consulting services tailored to the client's needs
* Research and develop supplier questionnaires and surveys for determining sourcing practices and understanding sustainability risks to corporate brands
* Develop metrics and use basic statistical analysis to analyze and report on sourcing performance
Communications
* Draft reports and presentations to convey project results and deliverables
* Develop original content around CSR and sustainable sourcing
* Represent SCS at key sustainability and sustainable sourcing conferences
* Plan and coordinate meetings with clients, client suppliers and key stakeholders
* Assist in coordinating second and third party audits of clients and suppliers as part of the Supply Chain Services or Responsible Biofuels team
Operations
* Develop and maintain SCS quality system documentation for SCS Responsible Biofuel Services
* Development, translation, and editing of program materials, reports, and report templates
* Ongoing maintenance of all new, existing and archived program files in accordance with SCS' Quality Assurance system
* Review audit reports for quality and conformance with program requirements
* Support Program Manager with budgeting and drafting proposals for client projects
* Keeping good track of time spent on specific projects and providing timely billing and invoicing support
* Additional tasks as requested by the Director and Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelors' Degree in a related field, Advanced Degree preferred
* Minimum of two years of professional experience in supply chain management, sustainable sourcing, CSR or a relevant applied social and/or environmental field
* Experience developing and analyzing CSR related questionnaires, surveys and scorecards
* Excellent writing and communication skills in English
* Minimum strong proficiency or fluency in Spanish or Portuguese
* Overseas work or study experience in agriculture or forestry and/or applied experience working with manufacturing production systems ideal
* Excellent organizational skills
* Initiative and ability to work independently; responsive and adaptive personality
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and FileMaker Pro
* Strong understanding of CSR programs and third-party certification initiatives
* Ability to complete time-sensitive projects and to provide realistic deadlines.
Additional Preferred Skills
* Proficiency in Database Management Systems
* Preference for candidates with language skills in German and Chinese (Mandarin)
* Research in Biofuels, Life Cycle GHG emissions of fuels or carbon foot printing a plus
