Role Summary

This position can be based in the vicinity of an Ecova office with priority given to Seattle, WA; Atlanta, GA; Portland, OR; Minneapolis, MN.

This Senior Program Manager role is responsible for large, complex strategic programs prioritized for corporate leadership by Ecova's Executive team. Programs will typically be enterprise-wide, including global teams, and will include significant software and technical components.

The Senior Program Manager will lead a large, complex and highly strategic multi-year program to transform Facilities Solutions into a global enterprise with delivery capabilities in several countries. The initial focus will be to support North American and UK-based companies with facilities management capabilities for their operations and locations across the globe. The Senior Program Manager will work closely with Ecova executive management to define, plan, execute and manage the portfolio of projects required to transform Ecova into a global delivery entity, in collaboration with ENGIE, Ecova's parent company. This role requires proven experience and leadership in global program and project management and business transformation in a software and technology-based enterprise.

As the program team will initially be geographically distributed across North America and Europe, candidates must be able to work flexible work schedules and have the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Role Description

• Program and Project Management

o Lead programs and projects through the full program lifecycle: feasibility assessment, business case creation and approval, requirements definition and scoping, planning, launch, and support to achieve corporate objectives within budget, scope and schedule constraints.

o Clarify and drive program priorities and commitments and establish clear chains of project management and accountability across multiple teams in several geographic locations.

o Use project management best practices (methods, processes, tools) to lead and manage programs. Follow existing Ecova processes and templates and help define new methods and processes where required. Serve as a role model and leader for best practices in areas such as sponsorship management, project plans, RACI process, status reporting and issue management; change and decision logs; risk management and communications.

o For assigned programs, drive extensive cross-organization collaboration, identify trade-offs, work across functions and geographies, balance tactical and strategic initiatives, drive decisions, and communicate with executives. Be involved with hands-on operational activities where required.

o Manage cross-functional project teams comprised of Ecova functions such as Product Management, Software Development and IT, Operations, Sales, Legal, HR etc. and collaborate with corresponding global functions in ENGIE where required.

• Business Transformation and Change Management

o Act as an advocate and champion for assigned programs through strong communication, including regular communication with senior management, on objectives, status, risks and recommendations.

o Mentor and serve as a resource to assigned project and line managers on project management methods, tools and communication.

o Take a leadership role in developing a global mindset within Ecova based in previous experience with global projects. Balance the needs and requirements of stakeholders and participants from multiple countries and cultures.

Job Requirements

Role Competencies

• Education/Certification/Knowledge

o Undergraduate degree in energy-related discipline, engineering, or other technology-based fields are preferred.

o Formal training and / or certification in project management required. Formal accreditation or certification such as PMP or ACMP certification are a plus.

o Knowledge of resource (energy/waste/water) services and controls preferred.

o MBA or a Master's Degree in environmental, engineering, or related fields, or advanced degree(s)/certifications/training in renewable energy manager are preferred.

• Experience

o Required

 A minimum of 7 years as a project or program manager leading large, complex, global projects with budget, schedule, and scope responsibility.

o Preferred

 A minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities or energy management.

 Global program or project management. Ideal candidate will have lived or executed projects outside of the United States.

 A minimum of 5 years leading projects and staff in a matrix environment.

 Program and project management in a consulting or professional services organization.

 Hands-on experience leading large-scale business transformation projects.

 Program and Project Management Skills

 Master-level knowledge of standard project management processes and tools to develop schedules, budgets, and resource plans.

 Ability to lead teams who create business plans, including funding and resource requirements.

 Excellent planning, organizational, analytical and decision-making skills.

 Able to identify, summarize and manage key issues, without getting bogged down in details. Demonstrated experience using a best-practice risk management methodology.

 Highly collaborative work style, team building skills and problem solving approach. Motivates project teams and stakeholders to achieve desired results.

 Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.

 Adept at listening in order to gather clear and complete information; able to disseminate to others.

 Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Salesforce.com a plus.

o Leadership / Business Transformation Skills

 Hands-on experience with a leading change management methodology and demonstrated success using change management methods on large-scale projects.

 Ability to craft and clearly communicate a vision and benefits for business transformation. Able to obtain buy-in from participants.

 Cross-cultural experience and sensitivity. Possess skills, based on personal experience, to listen to, draw out and understand cultural issues and concerns that may impede program success. Ability to foster cross-cultural communication and decisions.

o Personal Style

 Highly results-driven, independent and flexible, with executive-level communication skills, and strong stakeholder focus.

 Able to quickly adapt to change in direction and activities. Able to propose solutions when direction changes.

 Is strong leader, but stays aligned with executive management and executes per determined objectives.

o WORK ENVIRONMENT

 Programs and projects will typically be executed with functions in several locations across North America, and across other geographies for global programs. As a result candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate time zone differences. Occasional attendance at evening events and work over weekends may be required.

 Travel within and outside of the U.S. may be required up to 25% of the time and may be more frequent at certain project phases.
