The Product Owner works within the agile process and is the final authority for decisions regarding priority, business value, and functionality for all the work done by one of our Agile development teams. The Product Owner possesses an in depth knowledge of company goals, product strategy, and objectives of the project. The Product Owner is the primary interface for the business with the Scrum Team, and is responsible for maintaining a prioritized backlog so that each successive sprint can be planned clearly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

* Ably represents the team, works with and engages internal and external stakeholders as needed.

* Uses clear goals to communicate the product vision at the beginning of every release cycle and sprint so that the team understands and is equipped to realize it.

* Makes business decisions and clearly communicates requirements through epics and user stories so they are understood.

* Communicates status outside the team using application lifecycle management tools.

* Creates, maintains, prioritizes, and sequences the product backlog based on business value or ROI.

* Creates user stories and acceptance tests from themes and features granular enough for a single sprint. Prioritizes these user stories by business value.

* Decides which user stories should be scheduled into a given sprint.

* Acts as a fully integrated team member.

* Provides rapid feedback to team and captures external feedback clearly and objectively.

* Leads sprint reviews, sprint and release planning, demos, and other meetings as needed.

* Reviews deliverable and demonstrable code after every sprint, and has the authority to accept or reject.

* Develops acceptance criteria for testing and progress visibility.

* Maintains and works with the team to groom the backlog of user stories and defects.

* Manages internal and external communication for the team, improving transparency.

* Prioritizes resolution of software defects.

* Is always accessible and participates proactively and continuously in the activities of the team. Steers the team to ensure continuous delivery of business value. Is visible, vocal, and objective.

Job Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related discipline. Education requirements may be satisfied with commensurate experience.

* 8 – 10 years of experience with progressively responsible software product management or software development work and prior management experience.

* Practical experience implementing Agile methods to drive team performance and a track record of success using the Agile method to deliver software products.

* Formal product owner and Agile training are very desirable.

* Software company experience desirable.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, flexibility and adaptability to change, decision-making and critical thinking skills.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
