Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Product Compliance & Stewardship Manager to join the LNA Team in West Hartford, CT. In this role, this individual will ensure adherence to external product environmental and social regulations, Legrand Group Corporate Social Responsibility commitments and support other objectives defined for product stewardship at Legrand North America.

- Monitor, analyze and communicate to key internal stakeholders new or anticipated customer or government regulatory requirements and the implications for business units, purchasing and product development. Engage with internal and external legal counsel as needed to assess and meet regulatory and customer requirements.

- With the VP of Sustainability develop recommendations and action plans to ensure that Legrand NA is meeting external obligations and internal goals for product sustainability, including alignment of North American eco-design approach to that of the Legrand Group.

- Work with product management, technical, sales, purchasing, manufacturing, customer service and IT staff to provide relevant requirements on product compliance and stewardship, and to support incorporation of these requirements into the relevant business processes. With product managers, perform product reviews and respond to inquiries with regard to part compliance.

- Coordinate internal reviews of product stewardship and compliance programs, including periodic self-audits. Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed. In coordination with General Counsel support the conduct or direct the internal investigation of compliance issues.

- Support the efforts of the Legrand NA Product Compliance Committee (PCC) and Leader by helping develop internal compliance procedures; assisting in the creation and maintenance of relevant product information databases, document retention policies and support the efforts of the PCC business units in their efforts to achieve and sustain high data fidelity.

- Provide proactive and directed cross-SBU interaction to minimize cost and maximize compliance performance.

- Support the efforts of the Legrand NA Product Sustainability Team/Team Leader and all Product Managers to develop high quality Environmental and Health Product Declarations, including monitoring and assessing product transparency trends as well as in the processes required to generate them.

- Perform other similar and related duties as required.

Education:

- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Materials Engineering

- Masters in Environmental Sciences or related degree that demonstrates technical and environmental competencies

Experience:

5-10 years of experience with experience in Product Environmental and Social Compliance and/or Product Environmental Regulatory Affairs

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

- Demonstrated expert knowledge of state, federal and international product environmental regulations (e.g. RoHS, REACH, and Conflict Minerals) and awareness of industry requirements (e.g. environmental and health product declarations)

- Experience with performance of life-cycle analysis and supporting tools; understanding and capacity to advise engineering and product managers on circular economy and/or cradle to cradle concepts. Familiarity with EPDs and HPDs and the global product transparency movement.

- Possess deep passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship and the opportunity to impact the development of future products through application of sustainability principles

- Excellent organizational, time and project management skills. Close attention to detail and sharp investigative skills. Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities as well as to evaluate situations, identify options and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently.

- Ability to work in a matrix environment and possess the skill to address and influence a range of functions and diverse businesses, and interact with individuals at all levels within the organization. Ability to work independently as well as within a variety of teams

- Experience in the manufacturing environment and electrical/ICT industry preferred

- Strong computer skills, highly proficient with Microsoft Office functions including Excel, PowerPoint, Word as well as other software analytical tools and e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
