CSG is currently seeking a Chief Software Architect to drive the design of all CSG products and to provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team. You'll operate in a highly collaborative, fast paced, hands on environment where you'll set the tone and direction for making great technical decisions. Your role is to provide the blueprint for a complete enterprise application system for operating residential energy efficiency programs and to work closely with technical leaders to bring those designs to fruition in great products. Key aspects of our solution include desktop and mobile data collection capabilities, web based management applications, high volume data transactions, and multiple relational databases.

You should have expert knowledge designing highly redundant, scalable, multi-tier web-based enterprise transaction processing systems from front end to back end. In addition you should have experience with a range of appropriate technologies such as Microsoft .Net and Silverlight, Java, HTML, XML, Ajax, WS-*, ORM, and Oracle and SQL Server.

You should also have a track record of effectively working with management, product managers, business analysts, developers, and QA to conceive of, design, and deliver successful commercial software products.

This position reports to the Executive VP of Software and Technology.

Responsibilities:

•Lead and take responsibility for the high quality design of all new products and capabilities.

•Anticipate downstream technical needs and steer current designs to appropriately factor in those considerations.

•Work with product management and business analysts to create product strategies and roadmaps appropriately balancing customer, product, and technical investment priorities.

•Work with peer senior engineering executives to establish the right structures and processes for product development success.

•Provide hands on help in analyzing, designing and developing solutions to especially thorny or complex technical problems.

•Mentor and motivate the CSG technical community.

•Other duties as assigned by the EVP of Software and Technology.

Requirements

•Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science or related field; master's or other higher level degree preferred.

•10 -- 15 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

•Exceptional leadership and/or mentorship abilities and professional communication skills.

•Highly proficient in a wide range of enterprise application technologies such as, .Net, Silverlight, Java, Oracle, MS/SQL, Ajax, HTML, XML, WS-*, MQ, ETL tools.

•Expert knowledge of all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of large-scale, business centric and process based applications.

•Experience working with multiple development methodologies including agile and waterfall.

•Previous experience designing and developing high traffic/enterprise web applications with a focus on performance and scalability.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
