Basic Functions

This Project Manager along with the EUC team will be responsible for the implementation of various initiatives in our Marketing, Education & Outreach (ME&O) program. This role is responsible for managing contractors, real estate professionals and other strategic partner outreach initiatives, training oversight, and ongoing support throughout the duration of the program cycle. This position is responsible for the development and planning of networking opportunities for building industry stakeholders and lenders, and will also create and facilitate the integration of training modules into an innovative online platform.

What you'll be doing:

IMPLEMENTATION

Manages and implements the state wide Financing ME&O Plan

Coordination with stakeholders

Facilitates all reporting and invoicing within the requirements of the contract

Oversees the implementation of strategic partnerships based on statewide marketing plan guidelines

BUILDING INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT AND SUPPORT

Develops building industry training and supports the network for financing and statewide marketing, education & outreach (ME&O) campaigns. Building industry includes, but is not limited to contractors, raters, real estate professionals, appraisers, inspectors and property management companies. Oversee the building industry professional engagement training providing support for the marketing and sales aspects of the program, for both residential and non-residential markets. Coordinates and plays an active role in meetings involving stakeholders.

Assists in the development and implementation of detailed action plans, working with curriculum development teams and training video developers as it pertains to the integration into the Energy Upgrade California, CHEEF, and Go Green Financing brands.

The trusted resource and go-to individual for the building industry stakeholders as it pertains to the Go Green Financing initiatives; this may include relationship building, presentations, building trade organization alliances, and development of key partnerships within the state.

In conjunction with utility and government agencies, streamlines building industry engagement and capacity building pertaining to both energy management and workforce training in order to maximize pilot program impact.

Coordinates with the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority (CAEATFA) team members on financial and contractor recruitment for training and support for the seven financing pilots administered by the CHEEF.

IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ONLINE LEARNING PLATFORM

Designs & Integrates training modules into an online learning platform for adult education creating a positive user experience.

Works with vendors to add additional modules, based off data collected in a variety of market sectors and covering a variety of subject matters.

Creates new lesson plans and modify/update existing plans according to program changes and updates, provided by strategic partner feedback including CAEATFA, and user feedback.

Creates and provides additional educational handouts and resources to ensure the message and lessons are solidified for a deeper understanding by the user. This could include the development of spreadsheets, talking points, case studies and program details. The purpose of this activity is to facilitate greater understanding of the subject matter and allow for materials to be downloaded and used in the field.

Teaches the benefits and functionality of using the online tool to the building industry and to stakeholders.

BUILDING INDUSTRY MARKETING AND SUPPORT

Works with marketing associates, vendors, and CSE internal marketing departments to develop the communication strategy providing updates regarding all changes in our marketing campaigns and programs, to the building industry stakeholders.

Develops content and subject matter for regular newsletters to provide direct marketing communication with participants in the programs as well as non-participants on the mailing list.

Leverages strategic partner relationships to identify opportunities for sponsorships, collaborative marketing, speaking engagements, and print advertisements in order to engage, educate and activate the building industry membership

Coordinate with the Energy Upgrade California Statewide ME&O campaigns as well as the CSE general marketing campaigns to reach a wider audience and instill interest and potential participation in programs and other learning opportunities.

STATEWIDE REAL ESTATE PILOT PROGRAM

Assists with the design, development and implementation of a real estate professional program

The purpose of the program is to engage real estate professionals, in the small business sector, in the promotion of energy efficiency to their customer base as well as taking advantage of the CHEEF participating loan and lease products available to help them pay for energy efficiency options.

Coordinate with the CPUC and IOUs on the development of goals and objectives for the pilot program, tracking progress towards successful implementation.

Using research and the target audience identified, collaborates managers and other team members on comprehensive integration into other ME&O channels as necessary.

GENERAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Tracks key performance indicators and successes of Statewide and Financing ME&O initiatives, reporting on trends and significant milestones. Maintains an understanding of, and complies with all contractual terms and conditions for the statewide marketing initiatives; maintains project schedules and tracking of deliverables; utilizes project tracking tools such as Smart sheet to provide regular activity updates to managers and stakeholders; participates in internal meetings with other programs and leverages other program resources to identify opportunities.

The ideal candidate:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business management, or related field.

Three (3) years successful experience promoting sustainability or energy management to either residential and small business customers or larger non-residential customers, preferably for a company, utility, or environmental organization.

Thorough understanding of residential and non-residential development construction, and real-estate business marketing and outreach.

Demand side management and basic financing industry knowledge experience preferred.

Thorough understanding of how the building industry engages and interacts as a trusted messenger within those market segments.

Experience in sales or the decision-making process for financing existing building projects a plus.

Knowledge of single-family, multifamily, commercially developed property, the construction industry or property management, real estate sales and lease industry.

Demonstrated knowledge of financing products and their use in the residential and non-residential market.

Marketing or sales experience with a variety of services, products, or programs related to the environment, sustainability and related areas and the ability to market them to building industry stakeholders.

Able to diplomatically negotiate and maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, negotiating, listening and public speaking).

Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and projects.

Ability to meet deadlines.

Confidence working with software programs, including researching, learning the functionality, and teaching others on how to use new software solutions.

Experience managing vendor contracts, tracking deliverables, schedules, and providing feedback as required.

Ability to work independently, apply initiative and mature judgment.

Ability to conceptualize and implement in response to recognized needs.

Ability to travel for work related activities.

Ability to balance regulatory and utility coordination with creativity, innovation, and a “think outside of the box” mentality to achieve successful marketing and sales solutions.

Other duties and special projects may be assigned, and this position will need to be flexible and open to changes in both the implementation strategy as well as the job description as the program grows and adapts to the marketplace.

Valid California Driver's License insurable in the State of California and must own a licensed, insured and registered vehicle and be willing to use it for work-related purposes.
