Building Controls Systems Support

Also known as EMS Systems Support

Responsible for technical support of Energy Management and Building Management Systems or the Facility Technology team. Acting as the technical expert in support of program delivery for multiple clients.

This position can be located in Portland, Seattle, or Atlanta Ecova offices.

Role Description

* Provide support for clients using a wide variety of Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Building Management Systems (BMS).

* Acting as an escalation point for the Ecova call center by troubleshooting incoming service requests and alarms and deciding appropriate actions to resolve the issues.

* Actively monitors all Facility Technology network and server systems.

* Directing third party on-site personnel supporting the Technician's troubleshooting process.

* Act as the technical expert in support of all Facility Technology systems.

* Provide technical advice to program teams to resolve product or service requests regarding complex building system operational issues.

* Recommend alterations to service development and design to improve quality of services and/or procedures.

* Provide mentoring and training in area of expertise to other team members.

* Establishment and communication of operational support processes and procedures.

* Perform related work as required.

* Perform onboarding duties as assigned for new monitoring and metering clients

* Act as a liaison between Ecova, our clients IT and strategic partners supporting monitoring and metering.

Role Competencies

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, energy management or related area of specialty.

* Certification in a variety of controls systems technologies:

* o* Novar o* Trane o* Honeywell o* Phillips o Tridium

* Information Technology Certifications including:

* o* CompTIA A+, Net+ o* Cisco o Microsoft

* Minimum of five years EMS / BMS experience employing various monitoring software and controls such as Novar, Trane, etc.

* Minimum of five years in an IT Support role focused on supporting Server and Network infrastructures.

* Thorough understanding of the control and monitoring of HVAC and electrical systems used in retail and commercial facilities

* Working knowledge of common IT communications protocols and practices as related to the design and implementation of Building Automation Systems

* Expert in network and server systems build-out, configuration and support.

* Operational knowledge of Building Automation Systems

* Proven troubleshooting methodologies and troubleshooting methods

* Demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Visio, Word, and Outlook.

* Expertise with BI and analytic tools like Tableau, Power Pivot, etc.

* Ability to create technical documentation for both internal and external customers.

* Strong ability to communicate to a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders verbally and through writing.

* Able to manage small to medium projects under supervision of senior staff.

* Self-directed and highly organized in approach to work.

* Interest and experience in utilizing technology to improve work efficiency

* Excellent time management skills.

* Excellent written, verbal skills
