We are looking for a UI/UX Designer experienced in mobile application design with a focus on human factors and graphic design. The designer will work on existing applications, as well as, the design for new client applications.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Lead visual design development throughout the entire product life cycle, from initial assessments through final design deliverables

Create deliverables such as storyboards, templates, screen layouts, color palettes, typography, user interface elements, and prototypes

Interpret conceptual ideas into appealing visual presentations and design solutions and develop visual design prototypes ranging from comps to interactive mock-ups

Develop visual interface specifications

Work with user researchers to design and observe field/usability studies and work with interaction designers to integrate visual and interaction design

Communicate design strategy and rationale to key stakeholders and across a multidisciplinary team through all phases of projects

Work closely with product managers and engineers to deliver the final products

Qualifications and Experience;

Degree in graphic design, digital design or related field with broad human factor design knowledge

Experience with Mobile and Web Information Architecture including:

Interactive Prototypes

Site maps

Flow Diagrams

Wireframes

Experience conducting usability testing

Methodologies of gathering requirements

Heuristic evaluation

Providing recommendations on enhancing the user experience

User Experience knowledge and expertise

Experience with analysing personas

Task Analysis

Knowledge of 508 Accessibility Guidelines

Experience with hi-fidelity prototypes

Mobile Experience is required

Portfolio that demonstrates consistent and compelling visual design and ability to articulate why specific visual aspects were used.

5+ years of experience designing clean, informational yet captivating visuals for web or software application

Past graphic design for mobile application experience highly preferred.

Strong expertise on leading design software applications, ie:  PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Flash

Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems and to convey these designs in the form of comps and design specification

An eye for detail, and the ability to multi-task across projects, with great ability to prioritize.

Self-starter with ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Strong, interaction design understanding and ability to create interactive prototypes for users is a great plus.
