POSITION SUMMARY:

Active full service art advisory firm seeking Social Media Intern. The Social Media Intern will report to the Director of this art organization and work closely within the Marketing strategy. The position offers an active role in our team, for our events and the art world at large. If you are passionate about art and love technology, this is the ideal opportunity to work closely with a private global art organization, utilize your critical skills and gain valuable experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following):

General Activities

• Monitor company accounts and mentions on various social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, LinkedIn and others

• Assist in scheduling and populating profiles

• Help develop feature campaigns, exhibition reviews, auction reporting and arts events to a large subscription of devoted clients and art world followers

• Explore brainstorming and strategizing processes of social media including marketing, content distribution, and writing

• Track social media for emerging trends / stories and best practices

• Help report, according to the contemporary art world, fall schedule of events - including major fairs, auctions, museum shows and gallery events

• Manage regular profile updates and post history

• Learn about and assist with additional social media and PR duties

Community Interaction

• Maintain and expand a master list of key users, social sites and social content around Art & Culture

• Help identify and engage topic influences and brand advocates

Reporting Activities

• Schedule monthly upcoming campaigns and blog reports

• Report on responses, track viewership, and engage additional users

• Report directly to and work closely with the Director

CANDIDATE:

• Passionate about the art world, writing, technology and social media

• Extremely capable, detailed oriented with extensive knowledge of social media channels, functionality, and tech space as well as excellent communication skills

• Good understanding of the art world, excellent taste and vision (Ideal candidate will have a background in art history)

• Excellent written skills, especially in context of creating social media content, blog posts and press/event releases

• Excellent visual skills, from social media photography to basic Photoshop and photo editing app skills

• Familiarity with web analytic

• Most important must be willingness to learn, to take initiative, to think creatively, be self-directed and solutions-driven

REQUIREMENTS:

• Work must be performed in the office of this arts organization in Soho, NY

• This internship will require a minimum of 10 - 16 hours a week *Schedule is flexible

• Internship start date September *flexible* and will continue through the winter, with an end date depending on your ability.

COMPENSATION:

Unpaid, but school credit optional and will be crafted around any requirements by candidate's university.
