DWP - Robert Walters Technology/Warrington, Cheshire, United Kingdom

Information Architect

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions and child maintenance policy. As the UK's biggest public service department it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to over 22 million claimants and customers.

Within Technology the DWP is changing. New technologies are being implemented and Legacy systems being upgraded to work effectively with the new digital age. We are focussing on cost effective delivery of new and existing technologies across areas such as, Hosting, Big Data, Information Strategy, Applications and Databases.

As part of these changes an exciting new opportunity has arisen within the DWP to help change and shape how IT will look in the near future.

Information Architect

The Information Architect will have an important role within the Architecture Division. This role will create high level enterprise information strategy for the DWP that will utilise strong general knowledge of Data Architecture, Information Architecture and Databases to create encompassing information designs that are also inline with the Digital roadmap.

Although this role requires knowledge of Data Architecture and Databases this is not a pure technical data architecture role. We are more interested in individuals with wider knowledge of Information Strategy. Candidates who have worked on and delivered varied information/data focussed projects end to end and helped scope roadmaps would be a good fit for this role.

This role would be highly suitable for candidates who are aware of the latest big data focussed technologies and have a passion for Data/Information. There is also a large focus on stakeholder management as architecture roles within the DWP have strong communication links with stakeholders across the organisation. Effective communication skills is a must have.
